**MUNICIPAL POLICE TRAINING COUNCIL STANDARDS Physical Agility and Medical Screening standards are set by the New York State Municipal Training Council, a sub- division of the New York State Department of Justice. Complete copies are available for purchase at the Department of Human Resources, Suite 100, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, for a cost of $10.00 each. The Physical Agility test consists of the following three activities: I. Sit-Ups II. III. Push-Ups 1.5 Mile Run (The expanded description of the agility test is on the official announcement.)
Westchester County Police Academy The Police Academy has been in operation serving Westchester and Putnam Counties since 1960. Police trainees are currently required to complete an 18 week training schedule at the Academy, located in Valhalla, New York. Since the Academy s September 1989 affiliation with Westchester Community College, graduates earn 21 college credits upon course completion.
