Research Areas Secured Embedded Systems Cryptography and Network Security E-Commerce and E-Governance Parallel and High performance computing Pedagogy, Andragogy and Educational Software Reconfigurable Security Dimension for Embedded System Embedded Systems account for a wide range of products and are employed in various heterogeneous domains, including: industrial systems (e.g. manufacturing plants), critical environments (e.g. military and avionics) nomadic environments (e.g. personal wearable nodes), private spaces (e.g. residences) and public infrastructures (e.g. airports). These devices often need to access, store, manipulate and/or communicate sensitive or even critical information, making the security of their resources and services an imperative concern in their design. The growing number of instances of breaches in information security has created compelling case for efforts towards secure electronic systems. Our work is aimed for architecture with security primitives and design of crypto-processor for Embedded System. Such a solution will enable the system to face an unsecured and evolving environment while meeting performance and constraints issues. Parallel Query Processing on Homogeneous Cluster of Workstations Advances in network technologies and the emergence of cluster computing have provided the infrastructure for computation of data intensive applications to run over collections of homogeneous and heterogeneous nodes. Our work shows that the parallel query feature can significantly improve performance for data-intensive operations associated with decision support applications in large database environments using homogeneous cluster of workstations. Performance analysis of Digital Signature Algorithms Digital signature algorithms are required for E-Commerce and E-governance applications. These algorithms also need to be applicable in many constrained environment where processing powers and other resources are limited. Research objective was to find workload characteristics of three important digital signature algorithms: DSA, RSA and Elliptic Curve Digital signature Algorithm Implemented over Binary Galois Field in Polynomial Basis. Trust in E-Commerce and E-Governance: Developing Countries Perspective Internet has revolutionized e commerce in developed countries which is not the same in the developing countries. However, the full potential of e Commerce will be achieved if there exist trustworthiness and both consumers and merchants have confidence in trading electronically. Research objective: overview the current state-of-threat by surveying people s perception about trust in e Commerce in developing countries like Bangladesh and argue that the security requirements of e Commerce service generally go beyond the more traditional requirements of network security and propose an e Commerce enabled model for secure electronic fund transfer, and present ways to mitigate challenges in building trust in B2C. Verilog HDL in Digital Design Verilog HDL has emerged as the most efficient solution for designing complex VLSI chip. It is IEEE accepted, industry standard and technology independent VLSI design tool. Research objective: to design customized general purpose 8-bit processor on an FPGA chip applicable in telecommunications, consumer electronics, controls, data manipulations. Implementation and Analysis of Hardware Algorithm for Signed and Unsigned Multiplication Research objective was to find an optimum hardware algorithm for signed and unsigned multiplication and to realize its efficiency over other similar algorithms by implementing it on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA).
Research Project Educational Software Development & Production Project (ESDP) is a 24 months project funded by the European Commission in association with University of Bremen, Germany; University of Starling, UK and Independent University, Bangladesh. ESDP would like to support the development of IT-professionals in Bangladesh and their mobility in relation with the European learning and working standard and methods in the field of educational software development and production. The project focuses on a set of activities: Systematic analysis of some educational software products, working standards, tools etc. Development of a course curriculum Running the pilot course Seminars and Workshops Research Publications Journal Publications: 1.
