On-going The office of financial aid uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine students financial need. This is the federally mandated tool to assess financial need. Xavier follows this assessment in administering federal, state and institutional financial aid and undergoes an annual audit to ensure compliance. In cases where there may be a special situation such as loss of job by a parent, or other family financial changes, students may complete and submit a Xavier Special Circumstance form to the Office of Financial Aid. This allows the office of financial aid to reassess a student s financial situation and may lead to additional funds, all within the parameters set by the federal government. 2. On-going Enrollment Services Grants are initially determined by the Office of Student Success and Retention and are coordinated with the Office of Financial Aid keeping with federal and state guidelines 3.
