Catholic schools should develop and implement academic, co-curricular,faith-formation, and service/ministry programs to educate the whole child in all these dimensions. Accessible to All Students By reason of their evangelizing mission, Catholic schools should be available to all people who desire a Catholic school education for their children Catholic schools in concert with the Catholic community should do everything in their power to manage available resources and seek innovative options to ensure that Catholic school education is geographically, programmatically, physically, and financially accessible. (Each week we will highlight at least one of the nine characteristics.) Choir and Music News REQUEST: A prize drawing will take place for members of the boys choir as a reward for their excellent participation and behavior during rehearsals and performances. Do you have anything you can donate for a prize? Suggestions are: gift cards to Sonic, McDonald s, GameStop, itunes, movies, etc. Please e-mail Ms. Crist at mcrist@spxdallas.org with any questions or ideas for prizes. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM REMINDER Thursday, December 20 at 7 pm in the church. If your child is in 2nd-8th grade and in music class this semester, he/she is REQUIRED to attend. The St. Pius Boys Choir and The Angelics are also required to attend. Angelics perform at North Park! Catholic Corner Answer It is said that Christ left the sand dollar as a symbol to help the Evangelists teach the faith. The five holes commemorate the five wounds of Christ, while at the center on one side blooms the Easter lily. The lily s heart is the star of Bethlehem. The Christmas poinsettia is etched on the other side, a reminder of Christ s birth. According to this legend, if you break the center, five white doves will be released to spread good will and peace.
