JÖNKÖPING, SWEDEN Jönköping can offer some of the best experiences in Sweden! The fresh breezes and view from Lake Vättern are breathtaking. Nature has been wonderfully generous here. The region is dotted with beautiful small lakes, rolling wooded hils, meadows, wetlands and - not least - a kilometre long beach in the town centre. In Jönköping, Gränna, Visingsö and Huskvarna you have a lot of things to discover! The nature and history of the city and Småland region is very rich and captivating. There is always something going on, and lots of people to meet. Jönköping is a great place to relax, shop and eat out. Jönköping is strategically located between Sweden s largest cities. Making a weekend shopping trip very popular among students. It s not a problem taking the bus to Gothenburg or Stockholm. Go there on the friday spend a night in a hostel and come back on satarday evening. Denmark is easily reached by train (one change, in Nässjö). Norway is more distant (via Gothenburg to Oslo and further, so plan ahead). Stockholm is 320 km north by bus or train (direct bus or train, then again via Nässjö). Erasmus code S JONKOP1 01 No of students 10,000 Style of study Swedish education is based on the principle that students take responsibility for their studies with support from the teaching faculty. Teaching takes different forms: lectures, seminars, group work, laboratory work, independent study etc. Different forms of examination are used. A common method is the written or oral examination which includes the presentation of a paper. Group papers are normally discussed during seminars towards the end of a course. A written examination takes place at the end of each course. Grade system The grades A, B, C, D, and E are all passing grades. FX is provided when a student has not succeeded in reaching the required level for a certain element of examination or intended learning outcome.
