Topics include: Overview, Accessing the Learner Center, Understanding the Learner Center, Understanding Courses & Learning Activities, as well as Completing a Course. OVERVIEW Inspired to Learn (ITL) is the exclusive Sears Hometown & Outlet Learning Management System (LMS) that delivers and manages online learning. Once registered for Inspired To Learn, store employees gain access to the Learner Center containing their profile, courses and transcripts. ACCESSING THE LEARNER CENTER To access Inspired To Learn, visit sho.inspiredlms.com/login/sho/. IMPORTANT: Be sure to bookmark the page for easy access. First time users will have to self register in the system. In order to successfully register, complete the following steps: Field Learners. Before you begin your registration, you will need to know your: a. Store Format (Hometown, Appliance & Hardware, Home Appliance Showroom, Outlet) b. Region Number c. District Number d. Store Number e. Job Title 2. Make the appropriate choice for each of the above items from the drop down menus. 3. When asked for a Username, use your last name, birth month and day (Example: Smith0929). 4. Hourly Employees leave the email field blank. All Store Managers, Store Owners, Franchisees, District Managers and Regional Managers are required to enter their SHO Email ID. NOTE: The Username and Password entered will be used to login to Inspired To Learn. If you forget your password, click the Forgot Password link. UNDERSTANDING THE LEARNER CENTER The Learner Center is a one stop shop for all of your learning needs. Below is what you can find in your Learner Center:. Navigation Panel Makes it easy to access current courses, completed courses and transcripts. 2. Active Tab Displays the courses that have been assigned and the status for each course. 3. Completed Tab Displays the completed courses. USENAME 2 3 UNDERSTANDING COURSES & LEARNING ACTIVITIES Classroom All learning activities open in the classroom environment. Learning Activity A learning activity is part of a course. Each course description lists the learning activities found in that particular course. Learning activities can include: job aids, videos, lessons, hands on practice activities, role play or exams. Course A course consists of one or more learning activities. Curriculum A group of courses make up a curriculum. All the courses in the curriculum need to be completed before the status of the curriculum is marked as Complete. It is important to complete all lessons within the course to receive completion credit. Exam An exam can be designed for a specific learning activity, course or entire curriculum. The number of user attempts granted and passing requirements differ based on course. Courses with an exam require you to complete all learning activities before taking the exam. 2
COMPLETING A COURSE The Learner Center provides you with a list of courses or curriculum that needs to be completed. It is very important to follow the Learning Plan and read through all of the learning activities. After completing a course or learning activity, take the time to practice what you have learned by asking a co worker or buddy to help. To begin a course, complete the following steps:. Click on the title of the curriculum. USENAME 2. The courses in the curriculum will open. Select a course by clicking on the title. 2 3. The learning activities and approximate time to complete the course is listed in the Description. 4. Click Launch to begin the course. The course will open in the classroom. 4 3 3
COMPLETING A COURSE (continued) 5. Follow the directions and thoroughly review all learning activities on each page. 6. Once completed with a learning activity, click the Next button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen. 5 7. Once you reach the exam, click the Start Exam button. 6 7 4
COMPLETING A COURSE (continued) 8. Select your answer, and click the Next button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen. 9. Once you have answered all questions, click Submit Exam. When asked if you would like to proceed, click OK. 8 0. Your exam results will display. If you did not pass the exam, click Take Exam Again.
