Overview This process will show how to view a course in the Course Catalog. The Course Catalog is the primary means by which a course is defined. There are two primary pieces of the course catalog: The Course definition page (Catalog Data) which uniquely defines a course in SIS independent of institution and the Course Offering which enables the creation of a specific sub-set of the course that has unique attributes or characteristics (for example, institution). Most attributes defined at the catalog and offering level are inherited by the Schedule of Classes instances of the course, but can be overridden at the class level. Steps 1. Navigate to: Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog. 2. Enter Academic Institution. 3. Enter Subject Area. (Example: ENG-W.) 4. Enter Catalog Nbr. NOTE: A wild card can be used to help narrow the search. For example, to search for all 300 level Math-M courses, you can enter the institution, enter "MATH-M" in the Subject Area and enter "3##" in the Catalog Nbr field. The # symbol acts as the wildcard. 4. (Optional) Select Include History. 5. Click. If multiple results are returned, click any of the links on the course you wish to view.
