Student Affairs also serves as a resource for students in need of assistance, represents students interests to the university administration, oversees the student conduct and civility processes, and Title IX training and support. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Campus Security officials serve as the Mount s first responders to incidents on campus. Campus Security oversees the emergency plans for both campuses and conducts regular emergency/evacuation drills. It also provides student centered programming with a goal of giving students information needed to make responsible decisions for their personal safety. The Orientation program assists entering students with their transition to Mount Saint Mary's University. Orientation includes an introduction to both academic and student life, and provides for the interaction of new students with faculty, staff, and current students.

Our department offers: Fitness classes Competitive sports programs Club soccer, basketball and volleyball teams Workshops and special events and activities The Fitness Centers for both campuses offer cardiovascular training equipment, heated swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts, and a variety of equipment for resistance and weight training. Through participation in our fitness and recreation programs and services, each individual will understand and appreciate the lifelong benefits of an active, healthy lifestyle. Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is here to help with these challenges by promoting balanced lifestyles, positive self-esteem, and essential life skills with an emphasis on the development of the whole person. CPS provides counseling services and psycho-educational programs for students (such as De-Stress Day), as well as responsive consultation to the college community. Counseling is available by appointment for most programs. All sessions are confidential. In addition to treating illnesses and injuries, Student Health Services will help students learn about health risks and develop positive health practices. Services include diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and injuries, physical and gynecological exams, health teaching, and consultation. Medical information is confidential. Individual counseling appointments are available for skills assessment, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, job search methods and assistance, and graduate school information. Firstgeneration, low-income and/or disabled students are eligible to apply for this prestigious program. Co-curricular opportunities include educational and social programs, game nights, weekend trips and more! Chalon room types include singles, doubles, triples and quads. Doheny offers large doubles. Resident Assistants (trained student leaders) live on each residence hall floor and are ready to assist students with any questions or concerns they may have. VETERAN SERVICES www.msmu.edu/veterans.asp Veteran Services provides support for current and former service members as they pursue their academic, career, and personal goals at Mount Saint Mary s University. This is accomplished through education and outreach, mentoring and connecting veteran and military connected students to resources available within and outside of the university. STUDENT MEDIA Chalon Humanities 200 310.954.4130 The Student Media department is composed of the Athenian Weekly, and the Athenian Yearbook. The Athenian Weekly is a publication from the Student Affairs office and advertises important information and events for students at the Chalon campus. The Athenian Yearbook is an annual publication that depicts student life and major university activities from Orientation to Commencement at both campuses.

Students who are part of the Leadership Scholar program at Chalon or the LEAD program at Doheny have opportunities to develop their leadership potential by taking courses and participating in group service projects and other developmental experiences. Examples of Women s Leadership programs include Annual Women s Leadership Conference Leadership Boot Camp Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) that sends students to Washington D.C to attend seminars on women and public policy. STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION, STUDENT ACTIVITIES COUNCIL, CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS Chalon Leavey Commons 310.954.4350 Doheny Building 11, 2nd Floor 213.477.2664 Students have the opportunity to participate in the Student Government Association (SGA), the Student Activities Council (SAC), and a variety of officially recognized clubs and organizations. SGA serves as the student government designed to work for the needs of the Mount community. SGA promotes student involvement and leadership development through educational events, community action, and social activities. SAC is a campus-wide event planning student council made up of students who consider themselves the Keepers of the Athenian Spirit. The organization sponsors various Mount traditions at each campus and host social activities for the entire community. MSMU has many distinct clubs and organizations for social, cultural, special interest and academic groups. These clubs and organizations offer a wide array of involvement opportunities and events for the student body. They work to establish an environment conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of students. 5
