Sample Setup Instructions for Using ClassScape with einstruction Classroom Performance System (CPS) Clickers and Software Note: These sample setup instructions were developed using einstruction Classroom Performance System (CPS) clickers and software version 6.00.0975. Specific features and menu options may vary with different versions. These instructions are intended for use as general guidelines when integrating clickers with ClassScape assessments. Please contact your school s technology specialist regarding questions about your specific version of einstruction technology tools. This guide to using CPS clickers to collect ClassScape Assessment data includes five (5) general steps: Initial Setup of Class Roster in Clicker Software (einstruction CPS) Selection/Scheduling of ClassScape Quiz Creation of the Quiz (Parallel Assessment) within Clicker Software (CPS) Administration of the Quiz Using Clickers Export of Data for Upload into ClassScape Initial Setup of Class Roster in Clicker Software (CPS) If a class has already been created within the CPS software, proceed to Step 6 to verify that all required information has been included. If clickers have been previously used in the classroom, but a class has not been created, or clickers have only been used in Anonymous Mode, begin at Step 2. If this is the first use of the CPS software, begin at Step 1. 1. On the main program screen, verify that the Prepare tab is selected and the Classes and Students sub-tab is also selected. (This is typically the default screen). Click on the New icon, then choose Class.
2. In the CPS New Class Wizard pop-up, choose K-12 as the Institution Type. Click Next. 3. Verify the Teacher and provide the Class Name. Click Next. ClassScape Assessment System 2

6. On the main menu screen, verify that the Prepare tab and Classes and Students sub-tabs have been selected. Click on the New icon, then choose Student to begin entering student information. NOTE: Student ID must match the Student ID used in ClassScape (NCWise number for many students). Verify this information for classes previously created. Selection/Scheduling of ClassScape Quiz When choosing an assessment within ClassScape that will be administered using clickers, be sure that the assessment contains ONLY multiple-choice items. While previewing the assessment that will be used, make note of the correct answer (letter choice) for each item. (E.g. Item #1 A, Item #2 B, Item #3 D, etc ) This information will be used during setup of a parallel assessment within einstruction CPS. Note for Custom Assessments: The correct answers for each item may be noted as they are selected in the Create Custom Assessment tool. Schedule the assessment within ClassScape exactly as would be done for students taking the assessment online. Upon reaching Step 3, make note of the quiz code(s) assigned to the class(es). Although, students will not need to input this code individually, this code will be required during the export of data for upload back into ClassScape. ClassScape Assessment System 4
Creation of the Quiz (Parallel Assessment) within Clicker Software (einstruction CPS) Please note, ONLY the letter of each answer should be entered when creating the parallel assessment. It is a violation of the ClassScape User Agreement to copy/paste, re-type, or in any way recreate the ClassScape item within the einstruction CPS quiz. Directions for appropriately displaying the item during the administration of the assessment are provided in Administration of the Quiz Using Clickers. In order for the clickers to accept and record student responses effectively, a quiz must be created within the einstruction CPS software. This is called a parallel assessment as it contains the same number of items as the ClassScape quiz that will be used and has noted the correct answer for each item. Designating the correct answer enables immediate feedback regarding how many and which students answered each item correctly. To create the parallel assessment: 1. Select the Prepare tab and Lessons & Assessments sub-tab. ClassScape Assessment System 5
2. Click New and select FastGrade Lesson. 3. In the Lesson Attributes pop-up, specify the following: Title Use Quiz Code assigned during scheduling within ClassScape Description Name of assessment Delivery Style All Answer Types 4. Click OK. ClassScape Assessment System 6

Continue to select the correct answer for each item (the pop-up will progress to the next item automatically after clicking on the letter). 7. When finished, click OK. Administration of the Quiz Using Clickers In order to appropriately display each question while allowing the clickers to collect student responses, both systems must be open simultaneously.
