Financial Statement GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING Students admitted in the Diploma Program must maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 to be in good academic standing and graduate from the program. Faculty will work with students throughout the program to make certain that students are aware of their academic progress and any potential deficiencies. PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTREPRENEURIAL STUDENTS Before entering the Program, students are expected to know spreadsheet software (Excel preferred) and have received the equivalent of a B or better in Financial Accounting. All admitted students must complete an online Principles of Accounting course prior to entering the Program, to ensure that everyone has a basic understanding of the principles they will be using in the coursework. The course will be available to admitted students four weeks prior to starting the program. GENERAL ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS In order to be considered for the Diploma Program, applicants must demonstrate through their admissions essay that they can handle a rigorous, fast-paced curriculum and can play a unique role in the classroom discussion. English proficiency is a must. The case-study method is an interactive teaching pedagogy, which necessitates a great deal of class participation. Candidates should emphasize a clear career strategy and explain through their admissions essay how this program will fit into their long-term goals. Students must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor s degree to be considered for this program. They must also demonstrate English language proficiency with a minimum total of a 79-80 (213 computer version) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Students are expected to show good writing skills and strong professional reasons for pursuing this program. TRANSFER POLICY No transfer credit, either undergraduate or graduate, can be applied to the School of Management. Academic credit earned in the Diploma Program may be applied toward degree requirements as determined upon admittance to a master s program.

OVERVIEW OF BUSINESS CONCEPT The development of a professional-grade business plan for an entrepreneurial venture is a concept central to the pedagogy of the Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Management program. Each student is expected to have an idea for either a new entrepreneurial venture or a new initiative for an existing family business. These ideas will be expected to meet a feasibility analysis that will be preliminarily conducted during the admission process and more formally developed in the first 2 weeks of the program. The feasibility analysis is meant to validate the business concept for development into an actionable business plan. If you are pursuing a new venture, please thoroughly describe the business concept that you propose to develop during this Program. If you are developing a strategic action plan for your family business, please describe your family business and tell us about some of the challenges and opportunities it currently faces. All essays should address the following points: What is the product or service you are offering? Who makes up the target audience that your venture is addressing? What are their key defining characteristics and what is the compelling need? How large is the market? How many people and/or companies have this need? What resources and capabilities do you need to properly serve this market? This submission is a critical component of your application and will be considered heavily by the Admission Committee in determining acceptance to the program. Your goal should be to demonstrate why your business concept can be successful. VI. RESUME Please attach a copy of your resume to your application.
