We want an environment where artists from all different genres, as well as people interested in the non-performing side of music (such as production), can come together and work to foster artistic growth on campus. 1. Why? 402 Pulteney 7 Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (SETA) Our house aims to be a coalition to education and advocate for animals big and small. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, carnivorous, or anywhere in between, you are welcome. The only requirement is a love for animals. **We welcome and encourage any student with a companion/therapy animal to consider living with us. Animals help us in so many ways, and increased awareness of what these animals do for their owners could help change the stigma behind having them. ** 1. Open to anyone who is interested in Asian Languages, cultures, history, and contemporary issues. Students are not required to be Asian or to speak an Asian language. The house supports the Asian Student Union, and students must attend at least two events per semester that are hosted by the ASU. 1. Why do you want to live in the Asian Language and Culture House? 2. What kind of Asian culture related events would you like to do? To be inclusive of all backgrounds and different nationalities. It is also to spread awareness of multiple perspectives and lifestyles around the globe. Our goal is to provide education about leadership, self-confidence, mental and physical health, and teamwork through our common love of sports. Individually, and as a collective unit, we to act as mentors for children locally and abroad by exemplifying our core values and by helping to spread the joy and social skills that, in our minds, only sports can provide. Our goal is to raise enough awareness and funds for this incredible organization to make a significant impact on the lives of children local and abroad. 1. 623 S. Main 16 Wish Factory Focused on spreading imagination, creativity, happiness and the fulfillment of wishes through the HWS campus and the community of Geneva. We will achieve this goal by promoting a theme of "happily ever after" and aiming to make dreams come true for those who are less fortunate by fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through social events that allow students tot take a step back into their childhood. We also intend to involve the community of Geneva by initiating programs that allow children to feel like a prince or princess for a day. 1. How do you believe that you can contribute to the Wish Factory house? 2. What program ideas do you have for the 2017-18 academic year that would successfully incorporate the Wish Factory mission statement? 3. Tell us about a time where you had to be creative in a situation. What did you learn as a result? To serve as a space where those interested in serving the Geneva community can unite in civic engagement and service learning projects benefiting the Geneva City School District. The Geneva 2020 mission is focused on increasing graduation rates, career and college readiness, and literacy. Students will have to minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service per semester. 639 S. To expand the scope and understanding of a student's role as a member of society, and show how it is necessary to voice opinions about political and social issues that are present in our campus and world. 737 S. Main 7 Cultural Connections To promote a shared experience amongst students of various minority groups in America who face different forms of oppression and marginalization. This house ins intended to foster a living environment in which ethnic perspectives that have been undervalued in the U.S., and in our college community, are equally shared and respected. Our mission, seeks to emulate the College s mission of Inclusive Excellence, and enact a community in which all students are given an equal opportunity to succeed and empower themselves as individuals on our campus. Here, students will be granted a platform on which they can experience inclusivity amongst their peers and freely express their cultural diversity. This includes, but is not limited to, life experiences, customs, traditions, and ideologies that will allow the individuals in this house and the broader community, to appreciate what different minority groups offer to American history and society. 1. A welcoming environment on campus in which to experience Jewish culture and religion through participation in Jewish holiday celebrations, learning opportunities, and communal gatherings. No religious affiliation is required for living in the house or to participate in the Abbe Center's programming, but residents should have a willingness to learn and share new experiences, along with a sense of appreciation for religious diversity. Abbe Center 17 Jewish Culture House 1. What interests you about living in the Jewish Culture House at the Abbe Center for Jewish Life? 2. What are your expectations for your experience in the house? 3. How can you contribute to the environment and programming at the Jewish Culture House? 4. What previous experience(s) do you have in Jewish themed activities, on or off campus? Bampton 17 Hobart Honors To provide an environment where Hobart students can focus on academic goals. Interested Hobart students should apply through the Hobart Dean's Office. Male Carr-McGuire 31 Mindfulness House (Substance-free) To advocate for a healthy body and mind through mindfulness practices. Mindfulness is defined as "a state of being in which we focus our attention on the present moment, encouraging a nonjudgmental environment and heightened awareness of our feelings, thoughts, and sensations...promising us less stress, greater productivity, and a happier life. " 1. What types of mindfulness activities do you incorporate into your everyday life? 2. If you don't have any now, what are you interested in incorporating? 3. Why do you want to become more mindful? Farm House 8 Guiding Eyes for the Blind Guiding Eyes for the Blind is a nonprofit organization that allows students to come together with Geneva citizens by raising a dog to become a guide for someone with impaired vision. The idea of this theme house is to further connect HWS with the town of Geneva and an organization the helps students responsibility grow in a way that is life changing. 1. What background do you have training dogs? 2. Are you willing to follow Guiding Eyes regulations in terms of raising a dog? 3. You are required to become a dog sitter in the program to live in the house. Are you willing to commit to two 3 hour sessions of a PrePlacement Puppy Class? (There will be dogs) 4. Are you willing to commit to living in the house for at least a semester?

Hillcrest House 13 Queer People of Color and Allies (QPoC) To serve as a home for members of the LGBTQ+ community, especially those who identify as queer people of color, where they can feel accepted, comfortable, and loved. We seek to create a community where residents are empowered, supported, and educated through the discussions and meetings that will be done within this space. QPoC will also serve as a symbol of the presence and existence of our community here in HWS. 1. Would you be able to commit and participate in events, workshops, and programs that will be held for you and your housemates? 2. Would you be able to be a leader and an active contributor to QPoC by helping in the creation, ning, and execution of events that will be open to the general campus community? 3. How can you contribute to the promotion of the cause and mission of QPoC? To educate the HWS community regarding cancer awareness and to become actively involved in fighting against various types of cancer. McDaniels 14 Hope House 1. What do you think you can bring to the Hope House? Explain why this is important to you. 2. Have you ever lived in Hope House before? If so, how could your experience be improved? If not, what would make your experience here memorable and comfortable? 3. How would you describe your personality and lifestyle habits? 4. If you were able to an event, what would it be? Explain how you could not only get the HWS community involved but also the Geneva community as well. Sheppard 7 Choose Your Own Adventure To fill and sustain a house in which residents would engage themselves and others in a cultivation of spirits facilitated by mutual engagement in healthy alternative on campus social activities, which imply film, animation, and games; both digital and in-person games, like role-playing, too. Many of these activities are typically enjoyed alone, but residents living in the house will be able to share these activities and expose each-other to new, potentially enjoyable things. 1. When you think of different forms of media in our everyday lives what makes you passionate? 2. How do you think sharing this with a new housemate could help broaden both of your horizons in general? 3. What would the ideal event related to your hobby be? 4. What form of media, whether it's a movie, book, comic, video game, or more, had an impact on you and in what way?

Sill House 13 Local Organic Foods Today (L.O.F.T.) Aimed at understand and improving the food systems that we rely on. The food that we eat can be something often taken for granted, but it has enormous impacts on the environment, health and people's livelihoods. This house seeks to raise student awareness of issues such as GMOs, pollution, resource use, morality, and farmworkers rights. Through education events and coordination with the school and student run organizations we hope to encourage sustainability and improve the food system in our community. 1. Name an instance where you made an environmentally conscious food decision. What was it? And why did you do it? 2. What is one food issue that you believe impacts the HWS community? How would you ideally address this problem? 3. What is a potential event you believe would effectively spread awareness of food issues? 4. What is a change on campus that would improve campus sustainability? To provide a peaceful and comfortable environment for the students who want to use the house as a study place. Stewardson 8 William Smith Honors House 1. How can you contribute to women moving women up? 2. What programming ideas do you have for William Smith women? 3. How can you contribute to the mission of this house? Female To provide an environment that fosters a sense of community among writers and nurtures their love of writing, allowing residents to share their ideas and work together, as well as to learn from each other's unique styles Trowbridge 9 Writer's House 1. What is your favorite style or form of writing? 2. How does using this form enhance your writing? 3. Submit a short sample of your writing (it doesn't have to be academic). 4. Explain how you could share your style of writing with others, based on sample. Zappler 9 Blue Ribbon House According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Although prostate cancer mostly affects men over the age of 65, many of us have been touched in our own way by the disease. We hope to spread awareness so that no more fathers, grandfathers, or relatives will suffer from a disease that is easily identifiable. 1. What are some potential ideas for fundraising/ awareness events? 2. Would you be willing to dedicate weekends or your free time to hosting fundraising/ awareness events? 3.
