HOW WILL PSLE SCORES BE CALCULATED? The PSLE score takes into account the content and demand of each subject number of subjects taken
WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW? Based on performance at PSLE, students taking 4 SS may be posted to: Express, Normal Academic, Normal Technical Students offering at least 2 Foundation subjects will most likely be channelled to Normal Academic stream in secondary school. Scores in Foundation subjects would be lower compared to Standard subjects as the PSLE score will take into account the difference in content and demand of any foundation subject(s) taken.
WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW? Students taking 3 FS and 1 SS could qualify for NA course if they do very well A few exceptional cases where students taking 2 or more FS qualify for the Express course Students taking Foundation and Standard subjects could be in the same class
HIGHER MOTHER TONGUE AT P5 & P6 Extra 1 hr/week taught outside curriculum time Marks not included in PSLE aggregate score Option to take HMT in P5 is given only once at the end of the year at P4 Subsequent movement will be based solely on your child s performance and the school s decision.

P4 WORKFLOW P4 Final Year Examinations in October & November EPPS recommends suitable subject combination based on student s P1-P4 performance Parents endorse school s recommendation or select another subject combination
P4 WORKFLOW When exercising your option WITH your child, please opt wisely For a subject combination that matches your child s capability, NOT What your other children were capable of What you want of your child Where your child s friends are (because they cannot be in the same class forever!)
P4 WORKFLOW Opt for the combination and not the class as the school decides on your child s class based on their results and not the course.
