The teaching programs of our courses refer to the levels of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. 1

CHILDREN S COURSES (6-11 YEARS) Intended for: children between the ages of 6 and 11, at their first stage of Italian language learning. Objectives and Methods: the children learn in a natural manner their first sentences in Italian, useful for communicating and doing some simple everyday activities. The activities include games, dramatization, poetry, songs, reading and writing exercises with the possibility for older children to study vocabulary and grammar more in depth. The lessons are held by qualified mother tongue teachers who work according to the personal pace of each child, stimulating cooperation and encouraging interest in a different culture. COURSES FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS (11-14 YEARS) Intended for: pre-teens and teens between the ages of 11 and 14, at their first stage of Italian language learning. Objectives and Methods: the students learn to communicate in real life situations with ease and confidence, using the basic language expressions. In addition, they acquire the essential grammar and syntax structures, and the Italian usage and customs are introduced through fun reading materials. The lessons are held by qualified mother tongue teachers who stimulate cooperation and try to facilitate and alleviate as much as possible the learning through pleasant and dynamic activities. 2

COURSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (14-19 YEARS) BEGINNER S COURSE Intended for: teens between the ages of 14 and 19, at their first stage of Italian language learning. Objectives and Methods: the students learn to communicate with self-assurance in real life situations, using the basic language expressions. In addition, they acquire the essential grammar and syntax structures through highly captivating and motivating activities, focused on variety and class interaction, accompanied by exercises that thoroughly consolidate the acquired concepts. The lessons are held by qualified mother tongue teachers who stimulate the students to read, speak and write in Italian, bringing them closer, at the same time, to the Italian society, mentality, customs and way of life. PRE-INTERMEDIATE/INTERMEDIATE COURSE Level: pre-intermediate/intermediate (B1-B2) Intended for: teens between the ages of 14 and 19 who already have basic knowledge of the Italian language. Objectives and Methods: The students consolidate the already acquired knowledge with particular attention on vocabulary building and in-depth grammar learning, as well as the development of comprehension, oral and written skills. The student is highly stimulated to express his/her opinion on current issues and topics regarding different cultures. 3

In addition, they acquire the essential syntax and grammar structures through highly captivating and motivating activities, focused on variety and class interaction, accompanied by exercises that thoroughly consolidate the acquired concepts. The lessons are held by qualified mother tongue teachers who stimulate the students to speak, read and write in Italian, bringing them closer, at the same time, to the Italian society, mentality, customs and way of life. COURSES FOR ADULTS BEGINNER S COURSE Intended for: adults at their first stage of Italian language learning. Objectives and Methods: the participants learn to communicate confidently in real life situations, using the basic language expressions. In addition, they gain knowledge of the essential grammar structures through highly captivating and motivating activities, focused in particular on the dialogues and everyday vocabulary. The lessons are held by qualified mother tongue teachers who stimulate the participants to talk, read and write in Italian, bringing them closer, at the same time, to the Italian society, mentality, customs and way of life. 5

PRE-INTERMEDIATE/INTERMEDIATE COURSE Level: pre-intermediate/intermediate (B1-B2) Intended for: adults who already have basic knowledge of the Italian language. Objectives and Methods: the participants consolidate the already acquired knowledge with particular attention on vocabulary enrichment and learning of the most important expressions in a natural manner -, useful in various contexts of the everyday life. The participant is highly stimulated to express his/her own opinion on current issues and topics regarding different cultures. ADVANCED COURSE Level: advanced (C1) Intended for: adults who already have good knowledge of the Italian language. Objectives and Methods: the participants further enrich their lexical and grammar knowledge, especially through reading of original journalistic and literary materials that stimulate discussion and comparisons, and that encourage the learner to use the advanced Italian language structures and important expressions with confidence. 6

BUSINESS ITALIAN COURSES Level: intermediate (B1-B2) Intended for: students and professionals with knowledge of the Italian language starting from the pre-intermediate level. Objectives and Methods: the participants acquire the basic business and commercial language and the cultural knowledge necessary for an efficient interaction in the work context of Italian companies. Topics regarding the world of business and economics in Italy are covered, and the way in which Italians conduct business with foreigners. A great deal of space is dedicated to listening and oral communication, both on the telephone and vis-à-vis relations, as well as commercial correspondence writing. Details: classes are composed of a minimum of 8 participants; 50-minute lessons; four lessons a day (morning or afternoon), five days a week. Lesson hours: 9.00-13.00 or 7
