Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated Pi Pi Lambda Chapter Slidell, LA Greetings, on behalf of the Pi Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Slidell, LA! The Pi Pi Lambda Chapter will host its 15th Annual Education Foundation Scholarship Golf Tournament on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Pinewood Country Club Golf Course, Slidell, LA. The begins at 1:00 pm. The proceeds from this golf will provide scholarships to deserving young High School students in St. Tammany Parish and the surrounding areas. One of the Chapter s annual goals is to encourage and support graduating High School students who through scholastic, artistic, and athletic achievement have earned the opportunity to obtain a college education. Pi Pi Lambda has awarded over $33,000 dollars in scholarships to area students since the inception of this. Please see the attached article and picture of last year s Scholarship Award recipients. Please help us continue this worthy endeavor by supporting our Annual Golf Tournament. We are requesting organizational and corporate sponsors to help underwrite the cost of this event. The Pi Pi Lambda Education Foundation, which sponsors this, is a non-profit 501 (C)3 (74-2868973) organization and your financial contribution is tax deductible. See enclosed document which describes the levels of sponsorship. In addition to those listed, you may elect to sponsor a Closest to the Pin or Longest Drive hole for $200. We are also soliciting Gift sponsorships for door prizes. These are unlimited and are at the sponsors discretion. There will also be exciting door prizes offered in addition to the 1 st and 2 nd prize trophies. We truly need your support to make this a successful and rewarding event. Local Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. presents Educational Scholarship Awards On June 13, 2010, Pi Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. located in Slidell, LA awarded eight (8) academic scholarships to area graduating seniors. The scholarship awards were presented at Mount Olive A.M.E. Church in Slidell, LA. Annually, Pi Pi Lambda Chapter presents academic scholarships to qualifying students to assist them with financial support for college. Each recipient received a certificate and a check for $1,000. The 2010 Pi Pi Lambda Educational Foundation Scholarship Award Recipients along with their intended university are: Miss Janae Porter (Bogalusa High School); University of Louisiana of Lafayette Miss Shakira Miller (Bogalusa High School); Southern University at New Orleans Miss Taylor Hamilton (Northshore High School); Xavier University of New Orleans
