DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN ENGLISH Bachelor Programmes Business Information Technology offers a motivating learning environment in which dynamic and talented students grow to face the changing international business environment as ICT specialists. The programme is an open and constantly developing learning environment, creating new competences in business operations and information systems in collaboration with surrounding businesses. Through multicultural team work, students gain co-operation and communication skills. Hospitality, Tourism and Experience Management concentrates on experience management in two major international fields: hospitality and tourism. The learning environment is truly international, as students come from over fifty countries. Hotel Management, Restaurant Management, and Tourism Management (Competitive Destination & Developing Transportation, Travel Agency and Event Management Business) specialisations within the degree programme offer future professionals tools to create services for demanding customers. International Sales and Marketing. Salespeople are always needed in global businesses regardless of economic trends. Sales jobs today are consultative, professional challenges that require solid business skills and strong people orientation. In the Degree Programme in International Sales and Marketing the students have to step out of their comfort zone, take on different roles, encounter people, learn to listen and understand customer needs, identify opportunities, and create solutions together with the customers. Degree Programmes in International Business provide students with an education that corresponds to the demands of the rapidly changing business environment. Our students graduate with a broad base of knowledge and practical skills in their individual area of expertise. International Business graduates possess a solid foundation in various aspects of international business, foreign languages as well as cross-cultural communication and team-working skills. Aviation Business Bachelors can work within sales and customer service in commercial expert positions and as entrepreneurs in the service chain of aviation. They know aviation business processes, organisations and terminology and can implement their skills in practice. DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN ENGLISH Bachelor of Business Administration Master of Business Administration Multilingual Management Assistant education is well-known and highly valued in the labour market. Graduates from the programme are qualified to work in positions supporting multilingual management and multicultural organisation as management assistants, executive secretaries and administrative or marketing assistants as well as in the areas of communication and PR. They have a solid basis for career development related to organisational communication and marketing in business and public administration. Sports Coaching and Management programme trains Bachelors of Sports and Leisure, who are specialists in health and fitness, coaching, sport tourism or sport management. The English-language programme emphasises coaching. The principal objective is to provide students with an internationally recognised qualification allowing graduates to work as coaches, head coaches and sports instructors. Tourism and Event Management focuses on business travel and travel management. The objective is to provide students with solid skills in business management and business travel. The studies prepare for two types of job: those in organisations selling travel products (service providers and intermediaries) and those in companies buying and coordinating travel services for company personnel. Master s Programmes Aviation and Tourism Business is based on the future needs of this versatile industry. The focus is on current rapid globalisation, continuous change, and sustainability. The programme is planned especially for experts in travel intermediaries and retailing, tour operating, transportation, travel management, and tourism organisations. It prepares students to take on diverse professional tasks involving, for example, organisational development, project coordination, and management. International Business Management aims to educate change agents to improve business competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets. The degree programme builds competencies in leadership (especially organisational communications and communications management needed in leadership), international business expertise, international law, and expertise needed in a multicultural operating environment. Sport Development and Management aims to improve students' sport management skills and competencies through modern means of education, international seminars and students' own work development projects (including the Master's Thesis). The main subjects of the programme are sport management, marketing, media, innovations and financing. Communication Management is designed to deepen the communication management and leadership skills of professionals working in the field of marketing, media or communications. Its design adheres to everyday business as well as communication disciplines most commonly practiced in companies operating in global markets. The handson approach with its intensive learning sprees offers students a solid basis on top of which they can build their careers and grow into leaders in their field. Information Systems Management responds to the needs of the industry for multidisciplinary ICT managers who understand business value and modern technology and are able to lead ICT development programs in the global environment. The programme is targeted especially at ICT professionals who want to expand their management and leadership competencies to qualify them for the positions of ICT service development manager and ICT program manager in international environment. The School of Vocational Teacher Education trains vocational instructors in Finnish and English and offers research and development in vocational education.
