Dr. Steve Dolinger, President, Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education discusses the economics of education noting that in the State of Georgia if there were 30,000 more graduates with a higher education including trade certifications or a 2-year degree, the economic impact would be $242 million increase in earnings, $191 million increase in spending, and $475 million increase in home sales. Georgia's future workforce needs increasing academic rigor and expectations, has changing demographics, and is facing an increasing demand for a highly skilled workforce coming together as a "Perfect Storm" or we can turn them into a "Trifecta." To be Trifecta our educational system and the community (including the business community) must provide rigor, relevance and relationship for our young people. Of Books and Service...
