Library News Volunteers Required! The ISB Library is looking for volunteers to help out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The work involves shelving books, processing new stock, tidying, etc. Those interested can volunteer for 30 minutes, 1 hour or more - we are very flexible. Lantern Festival The ISB Library and the ELC will be organizing a small Lantern Festival for the ELC on Friday, 6 November during ELC s scheduled library time with Mrs. Balog on piano accordion and Mrs. Holsten on the French horn. Any musicians who would like to support this would be very welcome. ISB Library Multilingual Festival This will take place from 23-27 November in the ISB Library. We will be looking at languages spoken by the ISB Community. Native speaker parents are very welcome to help out with this. We are looking for speakers of Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Dutch, Farsi, French, German Plattdeutsch, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish who would like to share their languages with the children during scheduled library times. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Holsten: library@isbremen.de INTRODUCING... Mrs. Katja Somers, Elementary Mrs. Somers presently teaches Grade 4B. Having been brought up in Germany, then living 27 years in South Africa, she is both German and South African. After training and working as a nurse and midwife, she took up her studies at the University of South Africa where she gained her teaching qualifications. She taught for several years in the German School of Pretoria before returning to Germany. Mrs. Somers joined the ISB in 2012.
