Issue 1 Blessed Sacrament School Annual Appeal Newsletter: $26,340.00 Thank You! OUR 2017 ALUMNI HONOREE; COL. STEVEN O DONNELL, WITH FR. CHARLES GRONDIN & PRINCIPAL CHRISTOPHER WEBER AUGUST, 2017 Message from the Principal By: Mr. Christopher Weber As we conclude the 7 th annual Blessed Sacrament School Fund Appeal, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all who have so generously donated to our school, especially the parishioners, school alumni and faithful supporters of our educational ministry. I am very proud to say that the outstanding tradition of Blessed Sacrament School continues. It is no secret that demographics in the Valley section of Providence have changed over the past decade and the general economic conditions in Rhode Island have made it increasingly difficult for many families to afford a Catholic education. That is why it is so important that those of us who benefited from the generosity of religious orders like The Faithful Companions of Jesus, give back to the most vulnerable in our country and our cities. It is true that education is the only surefire way to lift people out of the cycle of poverty and that continues to be the mission of Blessed Sacrament School, the most affordable Catholic Elementary School in Providence. With your generosity and our commitment to Catholic education, we can make the American dream come true for a new generation of Providence children. Thank You! I would also like to thank our pastor, Fr. Charles Grondin, for his tireless dedication and commitment in support of Blessed Sacrament School. Fr. Grondin leads all of our school masses, hears confessions for our students on a weekly basis, and provides a model of spiritual guidance for our staff and students alike. We are blessed to have him leading our school. On behalf of the Parish Community, I would also like to thank the school s faculty and staff, and each and every benefactor listed in this newsletter for their continued support of Blessed Sacrament School. May God continue to bless you and the work you do in His name. In Christ, Mr. Weber It s been full STEAM ahead at Blessed Sacrament School as our teachers continue to integrate more Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics lessons into our curriculum. Here, the first graders are observing the results of their hard work in our Garden Club. This autumn, Camp Invention will come to Blessed Sacrament as an afterschool club. It will be a great opportunity for our teachers to further develop their STEAM teaching skills, and have some fun at the same time! For more information, visit campinvention.org. The Hope of the Harvest is in the Seed. We re on the Web! http://blessedschoolpvd.com

We empower students to become well-rounded individuals who are lifelong learners and joyful witnesses to Christ s teachings. From the Graduating Class of 2017 By Julissa Tenas-Valedictorian We are deeply grateful to the many people who have helped us during our years at Blessed Sacrament School. We thank Father Grondin, Mr. Weber, our teachers and all of the members of the Blessed Sacrament staff. We thank Mrs. Fioravanti for always taking such good care of us, and for being so patient with us. We are particularly appreciative to everyone who helped make our graduation liturgy such a beautiful and meaningful event. Most importantly, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to our families. They have sacrificed so much in order to make this day possible. We know that our accomplishments are a reflection of their support, dedication, and love. We thank our families and our friends for helping make this day possible and special for us.
