-The Hot Potatoes suite is a set of six authoring tools. I. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT EXAMPLE -They enable you to create interactive Web-based exercises of several basic types. The exercises are standard Web pages using XHTML 1.1 code for display, and JavaScript (ECMAScript) for interactivity. -You don't need to know anything about XHTML or JavaScript to use the programs. All you need to do is to enter your data -- texts, questions, answers etc. -Hot Potatoes v. 6.3 is freeware. -Free tutorial: https://hotpot.uvic.ca/wintutor6/tutorial.htm
II. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT EXAMPLE What is the flipped learning model? Verso is a tool that allows you to easily flip your class. Allows for active formative assessment and personalization. Empowers teachers to design deep learning and student interaction. Allows for student anonymity and gives you statistics about postings and interactions.

III. PLICKERS Plickers allows you to: Tailor instruction with instant feedback Use Plickers for quick checks for understanding to know whether your students are understanding big concepts and mastering key skills.
1 ST STEP: You will have to create an account with your computer by going to https://www.plickers.com Once you ve created the account, you can download the app to your IOS or Android device.
2 ND STEP CREATING CLASSES: To create a class, click on classes located at the top of the page. Click on Add a new class. Type the name of your class. Select the year and the subject (you can color code these) and click save.
3 RD STEP: Type the name of the student in the field provided. In the drop down menu you can pick the manner you would like to sort students. Tip: You can copy and paste your roster if you wish by clicking the blue Add Roster icon.
4 TH STEP CREATING QUESTIONS Click on the Library icon located at the top of the page. Click on New Question Type your question in the blank provided You can create a multiple choice question or a true and false question. Under Correct indicate which answer is correct. When finished, click Save and create new.
5 TH STEP: ADD QUESTIONS TO QUESTION QUEUE Click and select the question you would like to put into queue by clicking on the calendar icon on the bottom left of the question. Click Add to Queue and pick the class you would like to put it in by clicking on the class name.
STEP 6-PLAYING THE GAME Once questions are in queue, hook up your laptop or computer to the LCD projector. Open your app on your IOS or Android device and click on your class. On your laptop, click on Live view and on your IOS or Android device, click on the question you want to project. Scan the room for responses with your IOS or Android device. Click on the Check mark to get results on your computer.
