AIRPORT- KANDY - NUWARA ELIYA - HORTON PLAINS - WADDUWA DAY 1 - AIRPORT-KANDY You will be met on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport by our Local Representative and your Chauffeur/Guide. Take a leisurely drive up to Kandy enjoying the scenic journey as you pass the low country towards the city of Kandy surrounded by rolling green forests. Depending on the time of your flight arrival, you will have the opportunity to visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en-route. Spend a lazy day at your residence, The Kandy House, built in 1804 by the last Chief Minister of the Kandyan Kingdom Ratwatte Adigar, has been restored with the utmost luxury befitting the 21 st century guests while retaining the charisma of the bygone era. Take a guided tour through the lush Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya for an introduction to tropical flora. Enjoy the fine collection of Orchids and the stately Avenue of Royal Palms planted in1905. You could even opt for a picnic lunch or afternoon tea at the Botanical Gardens. Overnight in Kandy DAY 3 KANDY Take a short drive to the Kandy city center, surrounded by greenery and the great Mahaweli River. In the afternoon set out to a Meditation and Yoga Centre for a private session practicing various Asana. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth dating back to the 16 th century. Later attend a Sri Lankan Cultural performance featuring traditional dance forms from different regions of Sri Lanka. Overnight in Kandy. DAY 4 KANDY-NUWARA ELIYA
Proceed on a scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya relishing the endless views of tea carpeted valleys with female tea pluckers picking their way through the vast tea plantations. Break your journey at a local tea factory for a tour and a cup of freshly brewed Sri Lankan Tea. Continue your journey to your accommodation for the next few of days a cozy colonial bungalow restored from the time of the Sri Lankan Raj. You will be greeted by your very own personal butler who will attend to you throughout your stay in Hatton, and your Executive Chef with whom you could plan your menu options for a mouth-watering culinary experience. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya. DAY 5 NUWARA ELIYA Spend a lazy day at your home away from home - your century-old bungalow situated amidst 6 acres of tea plantation in the mountains. Feel free to dine outdoors in the open air. Enjoy a head massage or a walk through the fruit orchard and vegie gardens to pick your own basket of fresh produce. For lunch, we recommend that you drop in at the Nuwara Eliya Members Only Colonial Hill Club (strict dress code applies). You could play a 18-hole game of Golf or simply take a stroll around the English style country homes with immaculately manicured gardens. Having worked up an appetite, you will return to a Mountain Barbeque dinner at your hotel. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya. DAY 6 NUWARA ELIYA-HORTON PLAINS Proceed to the nearby Horton Plains National Park for some breath-taking vistas. Formerly the hunting grounds of the British Raj, Horton Plains forms an undulating plateau over a height of 2,000 meters interspersed with patches of forest and grasslands. Enjoy one of the most panoramic views over a spectacular escarpment known as the World s End with a sheer drop of 1,219 meters. Visit the spectacular Baker s Falls, before returning to the hotel for a late lunch. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight at Nuwara Eliya. DAY 7 NUWARA ELIYA-WADDUWA
Proceed to Wadduwa, a seaside resort set amidst a large coconut grove with incredible views of the Indian Ocean. En-route, you will pass through hills to meandering rivers and farms to the idyllic coast. Check-in at your very bown and exceptionally suite at your accommodation. Overnight in Wadduwa DAY 8 - WADDUWA Marvel at the raw beauty of Sri Lanka s coast spending a carefree day. As you step out in the golden sandy beach of Wadduwa, do not be surprised if your footprints are one of the few as the beach is fairly private giving you seclusion and privacy. Overnight in Wadduwa. DAY 9 - WADDUWA At leisure. DAY 10 - WADDUWA At leisure. If you wish to step out, the country home of a renowned architect, Geoffrey Bawa is nearby and well worth a visit for an alfresco lunch. Other local attractions are a serene boat ride in the Bentota river or for the more daring and adventurous you can indulge in some water sports. DAY 11 WADDUWA-AIRPORT As all good things must come to an end, your Chauffeur/Guide will drop you off at the International Airport for a safe journey back home.
