I will commence reading my novel and complete the activities below. My Suitcase You are to select 4 or 5 objects that are significant in your life, for example: a shawl belonging to a grandmother, a prayer book, a stuffed toy, a favourite recipe etc. These are drawn in a suitcase in your workbook titled My Suitcase. In your teams you are to present your suitcase telling the story of your life as represented by the objects in your case. Compose an explanation outlining why you have chosen these items (one page). Look up the definitions for this week s SST and write your own definition for each in your workbook. Commence reading your novel in reading teams for the first lesson then continue to read at home and discuss with your team members.

At the end of each chapter You need to complete a minimum of three sticky notes for discussion per Each sticky note MUST be supported with evidence from the text, as a foundation for accountable talk discussion in teams and with the teacher. Stick these stickies in your novel. After every four chapters Connecting with plot At the end of each chapter you need to record ideas, feelings and connections with the text, and track whether these change as the plot progresses (1/2 page).
