1. WHAT IS THE BBA - THM? Bachelor of Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality Management Offered in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Business KEY FEATURES OF OUR PROGRAMME: Top up programme to complete your BBA Fast track delivery one course offered per month (16 courses) Weekend classes Independent learning materials Assessments 1 assignment and 1 exam per subject 2. WHO CERTIFIES THE BBA - THM? Australian Institute of Business certifies the BBA-THM 3. IS THE AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION REGISTERED WITH THE ACCREDITATION COUNCIL OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO (ACTT) IN TRINIDAD? The Australian Institute of Business Administration is registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) 4. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THIS PROGRAMME? 5
Person wishing to complete the BBA THM must first be holders of any TTHTI Associate Degree, no minimum GPA required 5. HOW DO I APPLY IF I DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FROM TTHTI? Persons must complete a TTHTI Associate Degree before applying for the BBA-THM 6. WHAT IS THE TIMEFRAME OF STUDY? BBA-THM 13 courses (15 months) 7. DO I HAVE TO GO TO AUSTRALIA TO COMPLETE THIS PROGRAMME? The option is there to go to Australia to complete the programme but it can be completed at TTHTI 8. WHEN SHOULD YOU APPLY? There are three intakes per year, December, April, and August respectively. 9. HOW DO I APPLY FOR THIS PROGRAMME? a) The application forms are available at our Campus in Chaguaramas at the reception s area or it can be downloaded from the TTHTI s Website (www.tthti.edu.tt) b) Complete the application form c) Submit the completed application form with the requested documents attached to TTHTI s Campus in Chaguaramas 6
d) Pay the application fee TT$350.00 Please be advised that our cashier closes at 2:00pm and does not accept more than $200.00 in cash. Payment can be made by linx or credit card. 10. WHAT ARE THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS THAT ARE TO BE ATTACHED TO A COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM? a) Exemption Form available on our website (www.tthti.edu.tt) b) 2 References These should be dated not more than six (6) months from the date of submission and must be from nonfamily members. c) 1 Passport Picture d) Certified copies of certificates and transcripts, including TTHTI s certificates, CXC, CSEC, CAPE, TOEFL e) Updated Resume 11. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY APPLICATION FORM IS SUBMITTED? All applications are submitted to Australian Institute of Business for approval Applicants will receive acceptance letter via email from the Australian Institute of Business 12. IS THE BBA GATE APPROVED? The BBA is GATE funded; GATE will cover all tuition expenses 7
13. HOW MUCH DOES THE BBA - THM COST? TOTAL FEES Exemptions & Exams AUD - $3,550.00 Incidental TT $1,390.00 Tuition TT$64000.00 (GATE funded) 3 SEMESTER FEES Courses vary from semester to semester Exams AUD$200.00 per course Incidental TT$1,000.00 Tuition TT$4000.00 per course 14. WHAT IS GATE? The Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses Programme (GATE) is managed by the Funding and Grants Administration Unit of the Ministry of Science Technology & Tertiary Education. GATE is offered to all CITIZENS of Trinidad and Tobago pursuing undergraduate and post-graduate programmes at an approved tertiary level institution (TLI). 15. HOW ARE PAYMENTS MADE? Payment for Exemptions and Examination Fees are must directly to the Australian Institute of Business, either to their bank account or via credit card (a 2% surcharge is changed when using credit card). All other fees are paid to TTHTI, either through their bank account or at the cashier s office. Please be advised that our cashier closes at 2:00pm and does not accept more than $200.00 in cash. 16. WILL THERE BE ANY ADDED PROGRAMMES THAT WILL ASSIST ME TO FURTHER MY EDUCATION AT TTHTI? Yes. The TTHTI is constantly reviewing its offerings to our clients. At present, we are seeking to add another avenue for entry. This programme will address the learning needs of students who may not possess the academic background required for entry but have a strong desire to become professionals in various fields within the hospitality and tourism industry. We are set to put this programme into place for January 2012.
