American Darts Organization Board of Directors Meeting August 3, 2017 Stamford, CT Board members present: President David Hascup Area 2 Manager Mike Sexton Area 5 Manager Tom Sawyer National Youth Manager Jason Demers Vice President Joe Hogan Area 4 Manager Beth Newby Area 6 Manager Matt Stoner Voting Strength 6 Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 9:45 am President Hascup called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Apologies were announced for the absence of Area 1 Manager Steve Moore, Area 3 Manager Chris Helms, and ADO Office Assistant Steve Brown (all unavailable due to travel issues) and General Secretary Carolyn Camp. CFO Inman was available by telephone, and Area Managers Moore and Helms were available by email. World Dart Federation Events It was reconfirmed that the 2018 WDF Americas Cup was being held in Trinidad and Tobago in the summer of 2018 (venue and dates to be announced). The 2017 WDF World Cup is being held in Kobe, Japan, between October 2 7, 2017. Larry Butler has withdrawn from the Men's team, and will be replaced by first alternate, Tom Sawyer. Sawyer was scheduled to be non-playing Men's Team Captain. The two Team Captains will be Joe Hogan (Men) and Robin Curry (Women). The Men's Team will be Billy Squires, Robbie Phillips, Joe Chaney, and Tom Sawyer. The Women's Team will be Carole Herriott, Lisa Ayers, Paula Murphy, and Cali West. 2017 World Masters Nationals Jon Foreman experienced travel issues, and arrived at the venue late. He was not able to play in the event, but received his travel costs and expense stipend. As a result, he was invited to play in the All-Star Challenge/National 501 Championship, but at his own expense. 2018 ADO National Championships (World Masters and U.S. Team) The World Masters National Final currently alternates between Cleveland and Charlotte. A motion was made and seconded to keep the current rotation, with the Charlotte Open being awarded the 2018 National Finals. Passed unanimously, with email votes being received from Area 1 Manager Moore and Area 3 Manager Helms.

The only bid for the 2018 US Team Nationals was from the Colorado Open. A motion was made and seconded to accept the bid. Passed unanimously with email votes as above. Area Manager Reports Area 2 There is no Regional Director in Region 2-1, and there appears to be no activity in the Region. Region 2-2 is very active, with National Qualifiers being held for every Championship in 2017. Regional Director Russ Lyzak is doing a great job, and is communicating with the associations in the Region. The players are very interested in qualifying for international competition. There is no Regional Director for Region 2-3, but Area 2 Manager Sexton is scheduling regular National Qualifiers. Region 2-4 is active, with Regional Director Chris Jaramillo hosting regular National Qualifiers. Area 2 Manager Sexton is seeking information regarding the outstanding payments from a previous Regional Director in Region 2-5. There is a possible Regional Director for Region 2-5 to replace the interim Regional Director. Area 4 Area 4 Manager Newby reported that there was an issue at the Music City Classic in Nashville, TN (Region 4-2) with players complaining on social media that the Greater Nashville DA were not issuing certificates for achievements (180's, 9-counts etc). Investigations revealed that the tournament staff did not realize until the Sunday of the tournament that records were not being kept. An apology was made on behalf of the GNDA, along with assurances that it would not happen in the future. There have been some apparent communication issues between Region 4-2 Director Lloyd Hoover and some of his league ADO Reps. Regional Director Hoover is working on resolving these issues. Region 4-5 Director Mike Kisor asked Area 4 Manager Newby for information regarding travel costs and reimbursements for a player who qualified for the US Team Nationals in Denver. He was advised to talk to Steve Brown in the ADO Office. Region 4-6 Director Bill East reports of increased interest in the Pittsburgh area continues to grow, and as a result, the annual Steel City Open is looking to increase the purse. The tournament is interested in securing BDO and WDF ranking in 2018. The Lake Erie DA (4-6) has a new ADO Representative, Tom Harris.

Area 5 Region 5-1 now has a Regional Director, Carrie Demers. There is plenty of activity in the Region, but few players seem interested in competing in National Qualifiers. Region 5-2 Director Amy DeBruyne is doing an excellent job, and is scheduling regular National Qualifiers. There is little activity in Region 5-3. There is no Regional Director in Region 5-4, but there are a number of individuals who are willing to run National Qualifiers with the approval of the Area 5 Manager Region 5-5 Director Chris Smith is holding regular National Qualifiers. Area 6 Regions 6-2 and 6-5 are the only two Regions in Area 6 that are active. Area 6 Manager Stoner is removing the Region 6-2 Director who has not been scheduling any National Qualifiers, and will be scheduling and organizing events himself. With the two National Championships being held together in Las Vegas in January 2018, the Columbia DA in Missouri is hosting a full weekend of National Qualifiers to qualify players for both. Area 6 Manager Stoner submitted an expense report to the ADO Office for reimbursement, but it has not yet been authorized by Office Manager Katie Harris. Chief Financial Officer Report Chief Financial Officer Inman was not present on site, but was available by telephone. Payroll Tax Reporting. All prior deficiencies and notices with the IRS and California have been dealt with, and we are now caught up with all payroll filings and payment requirements. We are waiting on information from Office Manager Harris to complete the second quarter payroll, but expect that to be completed within 7 days. Financial Statements, Tax Returns, Nonprofit Status Our old financial records have not been made available in order to make any progress in preparing the past financial statements and tax returns. Articles of Incorporation ADO Articles of Incorporation will be handled by President Hascup. ADO Office Manager Harris' name will be removed from documentation by the end of 2017. Costs are $75 to reinstate, and $5 for the form. A residential name must be listed, and all correspondence will be sent to President Hascup.

Accounting System Quickbooks online has been set up, but progress is slow. We should be using this, and the best solution may be to hire a bookkeeper to handle all bookkeeping and accounting functions. ADO Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund The ADO Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund suffers many of the same financial and legal issues as the ADO, but it is a separate entity not administered by the ADO, and will have to be dealt with separately. 2018 National Championships / Las Vegas Open With no East-West All-Stars Challenge, the format for the National 501 Championship will be the same as the National Cricket Championship; round-robin groups leading to a knockout round. Further to the motion at the January Board Meeting, when it was decided that the funds from the forfeited stipends and additional entries from players ranked in the Top 16 of the ADO Rankings, the following motion was made and seconded: That the funds generated by the forfeited stipends and the Top 16 entries would be applied equally to the two National Championships; ie if a total of $1200 was forfeited by men wishing to participate in a second National Championship, $600 would beat added to each Men's National Championship, and if a total of $600 was forfeited by women wishing to participate in a second National Championship, $300 would be added to each Women's National Championship. Passed unanimously. A motion was made and seconded to introduce special bounty awards for the 501 Singles at the 2018 Las Vegas Open. Should an unseeded player beats a top-seeded player (Top 8 men's seeds and Top 4 women's seeds) in any match, they will receive a bounty of $50. Passed unanimously. The Las Vegas Open will be played on a minimum of 64 boards. RedEyeRhino will again be providing live streaming. We are looking at ways to reduce distractions to the players on stage, by relocating the RedEyeRhino control center from behind the stage. DartConnect will again be providing live online scorekeeping.

ADO Youth Youth Manager Jason Demers states that it is likely that the ADO National Youth Championship will alternate between Cleveland and Charlotte. This is because Cleveland and Charlotte are the two tournaments who bid for the Masters Nationals, and the ADO National Youth Championship will now be held with the Masters Nationals. The ADO National Youth Championship will continue to have separate events for Boys and Girls, with the winner of each receiving a trip to the Winmau World Masters in England. Entry fee for the ADO National Youth Championship will be $50 if players pre-register. Entries on the day will be accepted, but will be $75. It is hoped that we can provide shirts for preregistered Youths. DartConnect David Macher and Gregg Tong from DartConnect addressed the Board. To help the growth of darts in the United States and to improve visibility, three main ideas were presented for discussion: 1) Online DCTV channel 2) National DC Leaderboard 3) Online Youth League The bounty incentive mentioned earlier in the minutes could be highlighted by DC as seed vs non-seed matches. Meeting adjourned at 5.28pm
