English Programmes International suppt Employability We run courses to prepare you f studying at undergraduate postgraduate level, and to suppt your English and academic skills during your undergraduate degree course. Pre-Sessional Language and Study Skills Programme Completing the Pre-Sessional English and Study Skills Programme will improve your academic English language skills and prepare you f the UK s cultural and academic environment. Over the seven week programme, you will improve your IELTS entry sce by at least 0.5. International English Studies - Joint undergraduate honours Start your undergraduate degree programme with an IELTS of 5.5 ( equivalent) by choosing to study a joint degree with International English Studies (IES). Over the first year your English will improve so you can, if you wish, switch to a single honours degree in your second year. International Academic and Language Suppt (IALS) IALS suppt runs alongside your regular programme of study and is entirely free of charge. You can attend sessions which will help you to develop the language skills required f your course and help you plan, carry out and check your coursewk and develop your academic skills, such as essay writing and presentations. The International Student Advice Service offers specialist advice f international students and will help with issues such as finance, fees, visa regulations and your cultural adjustment to life in the UK. Practical suppt services include: Careers advice, Job Shop and Volunteering Services, Chaplaincy, Counselling Service, Dyslexia and Disability Service, Student Health Centre, IT and Technical Suppt. Orientation The International Orientation programme is held in September befe the start of term and will help you adapt to life in the UK. You will also have the opptunity to meet other international students studying at the University of Chichester. Academic suppt All students have a personal tut to suppt you with your studies and guide your academic development. We also ganise a programme of study wkshops throughout each semester. They include topics such as how to ganise yourself and your time, as well as coping with your reading, taking useful notes, understanding assignment questions, and knowing how to structure essays and reference your wk. Developing your employability Our degree programmes are designed to provide you with the skills you ll need in your future career. Classes and group-learning simulate a professional wk environment and will equip you with skills you ll need f future employment. Career Development The Chichester Careers, Job Shop and Volunteering Services will help with your career planning, job hunting, CV writing and interview technique. They will put you in touch with local employers offering part-time wk, help find a placement with a local charity. Professional Wk Placement Opptunities Many of our courses provide professional wk placement opptunities. Wk placements last from 6 to 48 weeks. Undergraduate students take wk placements in their third year. Masters level students can take wk placements as part of their final three five-month dissertation project. The University of Chichester has very high standards in education. My course is really interesting and the modules are well ganised. We are an hour and half by train from London and close to the maj international airpts, Heathrow and Gatwick. Chichester The cathedral city of Chichester has a long histy going back to Roman times and has many beautiful histic buildings but also all the facilities of a modern city. There is a great choice of designer and high street shops and a wide variety of restaurants, bars and cafes and entertainment. It is well known f its vibrant cultural scene with theatres, galleries, cinemas and arts festival. The surrounding countryside offers lots to do and see in your free time. Bogn Regis This seaside town is famous f its royal connections, its beach and f having the most sunshine hours in the UK. There are traditional cafes and a choice of restaurants, bars and nightclubs. In the summer there are music and arts festivals.

Accommodation The University has a wide range of comftable, secure and modern accommodation on both campuses. We also have off-campus accommodation available within walking distance to both campuses. Most rooms are single occupancy and some have private bathrooms. We have a small number of twin rooms if you are looking f a cheaper option. We offer self-catered catered accommodation. Costs University housing costs from 91 a week f a single room with shared facilities, to 155 per week f private facilities and meals. This includes the cost of all utilities.
