Year 2 Mass Last Friday, Year 2 LS took part in their first class Mass of the Year to celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi who is the Patron Saint of Animals. The children brought in animals which were mentioned in the Bible and these were blessed by the priest. The children read their parts beautifully with such enthusiasm. I was very proud of all of them. Well done Year 2! Ms Sephton Year 2 Teacher Saint Christina s School Bulletin Friday 7 th October 2016 Netball News On Monday 3 rd October the Year 5 and 6 netball teams were back in action as they travelled to face Devonshire House. Year 6 were on court first and the match started off at a furious pace. Back and forth, both teams creating openings and goal scoring opportunities, but it was Devonshire House who took an early 2 point lead. Saint Christina's continued to battle for every ball with great passing and movement. The girls fought back with a lot of determination, attacking up the court with some excellent finishing from Tamara and Rana. In the second half it was Saint Christina's who were first out of the blocks. Great pressure and perseverance paid off as Year 6 continued to take their chances and took a 7 v 4 lead into the final minutes of the second half. Towards the end of the second half, the match took a turn as Devonshire House managed to pull 3 very quick points back to tie the match at 7 v 7 and with the final chance of the match, Devonshire House scored to end the game 8 v 7 to Devonshire House. Next up the Year 5 team took to the court. Still in shock by the result of the first match the girls were determined to fight for the win. The first few minutes saw both teams trying to settle in to the game. Devonshire House opened the scoring first but Saint Christina s fought back with Beatrice scoring a wonderful point as the teams went in even at half time. The second half began and Devonshire House once again scored first to take the lead. Saint Christina's fought back even more determined and levelled up with a spectacular shot from Amelie S to end the game in a 2-2 draw. Well done to all the girls who competed, and a big thank you to Mr Artur & Miss Vicky and all the parents who came to support. Mr Burke PE Co-ordinator

Year 4 Class Assembly Year 4 took us on an impressive journey back in time to the Tudors on Wednesday as they captivated the audience with facts about Henry VIII and his six wives. The girls performed brilliantly with fantastic acting and singing, as well as smooth costume changes, as they shared their knowledge and enthusiasm for our topic. I am extremely proud of the girls for learning their lines and acting with such confidence. Miss Argles Year 4 Class Teacher Reminders Uniform Numerous unnamed items of uniform are being left around the School building.
