DEPARTMENT OF LAW ONE YEAR LLM ADMISSION, 2016-17 Introduction The introduced the One year LLM Programme from the academic year, 2013-2014 in place of two year LL.M. Programme. The Department as per Guidelines of UGC will offer the Programme in Five branches (Constitutional & Administrative Law. Business & Corporate Law. International Law & Human Rights. Science & Technology Law and Criminal Law). However, the department may exercise its discretion to offer any branch depending upon feasibility. Applicability of Rules and Regulations The Programme is governed as per the rules framed by the Savitribai Phule Pune University for Credit and Semester System prevailing in the University for its Post Graduate Departments with suitable changes by the Department wherever necessary for the implementation of the programme as per the guidelines of the UGC (for one year LL.M). LL.M: (Semester and Credit System). Eligibility: Graduate in law of a Statutory University (Bachelor of Laws: 3 years/5 years) Total Number of Seats: 120 Reservation of Seats: As per the rules of Savitribai Phule Pune University and Government of Maharashtra. Admission: 1. The Admission shall be on the basis of Merit obtained in the Entrance Test and marks obtained in qualifying examination i.e. 5 years/ 3 years LL.B / B.L Degree. 2. Admission of the candidate will be confirmed only if he /she produce the following documents in original and two photocopies of the same. Proof of date of birth: SSC & HSC Certificate. Statement of marks of all the 5 years/ 3 years LL.B Degree examination. Caste Certificate and Creamy Layer Certificate, if applicable. Transfer Certificate. Migration Certificate, if applicable. 3. The students shall confirm their admission by paying the total fees on or before the prescribed date. 4. Total tuition fees will be Rs. 45,000/- Plus other fee Rs.2840/- for the course (excluding examination fees). 5. Ragging in any form is prohibited and is an offence governed by Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act. 1999 and UGC Regulations 2009. Ragging within or outside educational institution is prohibited and is an offence. 6. Punishment for ragging is Imprisonment up to 2 years & / or fine up to Rs. 10,000/- convicted of offence of Ragging shall be dismissed from the Department and will not be eligible for admission in any other educational institution for a period of 5year. 7. As per UGC norms LL.M (One Year) course is full time regular course. No student shall be employed, self employed or practice in any court of law, during the period of study. The student shall submit an undertaking to this effect. 8. In case of any dispute with respect to process of admission, decision of the University shall be final and binding. The examination, evaluation and other norms of improvement of grades will be governed as per the norms of the credit system of the University Departments. One Year LL.M.Entrance Test 2016-17 Course Structure of LL.M.(One Year) (24 Credits) Credits to be obtained for the Course: Total Credit = 24 First Semester : 12 Credits Second Semester: 12 Credits First Semester: In this Semester student will study three foundation courses and one specialization course of 3 credits each. Second Semester: In this Semester student will study 3 specialization papers in the respective specialization consisting of 3 credits each and Dissertation of 3 credits.
