About us Longfield is a converter Academy which was established in 2011. We are the lead school within Longfield Academy Trust and currently sponsor a local primary school. Longfield Academy Trust is currently exploring working with an outstanding school in the local area to form a new multi-academy trust. Through this we hope to strengthen our capacity for school improvement, improve our financial resilience and provide opportunities for further expansion, staff development and to share services. We believe that every pupil is entitled to the best education and should be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential. All academies within the Trust, are expected to be distinctive, independent organisations with their own ethos, who can deliver high standards in their own right. ach school should be an improving school; developing young people who achieve highly and are well rounded, ambitious individuals equipped in all respects for a modern, diverse society. The Trust s challenging, supportive leadership and management can enable schools to transform attitudes and outcomes. Regardless of background every pupil who comes to Longfield will have an exceptional educational experience which will meet their individual needs and abilities. To enable us to do this we require the best staff who are dedicated to the school and strive to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.

The Humanities Faculty At Longfield curriculum areas are arranged into Faculties. The Humanities Faculty contains the following subject areas; Religious ducation, Geography, Modern Foreign Languages and History. We recognise that Modern Foreign Languages are an important part of the education of all pupils. By developing foreign language skills we hope pupils will gain an advantage for life in the 21st Century. As the world is getting smaller, coming into contact with more non-nglish speakers is becoming more frequent, signifying a greater requirement for people to be multi-lingual. Providing these skills at an early age potentially opens up opportunities for our pupils in their future career, with the people they meet and of course allows them to communicate whilst traveling abroad. The Faculty is staffed with five subject specialist Teachers, as well as two language assistants. The Faculty is well resourced and benefits from five language classrooms meaning that each member of teaching staff has their own dedicated teaching area. xam performance is strong year-on-year, with the Department making a substantial contribution to the school s progress measures for core subjects. The school s Bacc measure in 2016 was higher than the national average and MFL made a significant contribution to this achievement.
