Technology: Unless you have documented special needs that require the use of a computer in the classroom, I do not allow computer or other hand held electronic devise usage during class time; they should all be off unless I request otherwise. There is a 50 point loss for each infraction. They re great for note-taking, but the tempting distractions disrupt class. Please bring a paper notebook, pen or pencil, and take notes it s the best way to learn! You can print out notes from lectures, which will be on GauchoSpace provided we never fall below 50% attendance; at which point, you may have only your notes to rely on. Academic Integrity is required: read http://judicialaffairs.sa.ucsb.edu/academicintegrity.aspx Trigger Warning: Some students find this course content to be depressing and others are inspired to be the change. You should only take this class if you can cope with learning about our environmental challenges. High School AP Environmental Science: Any student who has already received a score of 3 or higher for High School AP Environmental Science will not be awarded additional credit for taking ENVS 2 and should not take this course.
