Documentation of Teachers Day This much cited Sanskrit shaloka highlights the importance of a teacher. A Teacher plays the role an educator, guide, inspirational guru and a friend too. While gently nudging the slow learners to climb the steep learning curve, he engages with the bright mind to delve deeper into concepts and thereby meet their need to be ahead of others. A teacher taps the fertile minds of young children and plants the seed of curiosity in them. This indicates the value of self-learning, exploration and philosophical enquiry under the guidance of a teacher. Young children take the spark of imagination to unimaginable heights. These little origami enthusiasts group up to become engineering of cutting edge technology. Who else than a great teacher could have been instrumental in this phenomenal rise. A teacher is like a sculptor who shapes the lives of tiny tots, the one who helps the young minds to overcome their fears of failure by inculcating values and confidence in them. Teachers day falls on 5 th September every year. It announces the birthday of the great teacher and scholar, the second president of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a phenomenal teacher, writer, orator, statesman, administrator and above all, a great man. As a mark
of respect to his invincible potential, his birthday came to be observed as Teachers Day in the country. This day is celebrated as a tribute to the valuable contribution made by teachers to society by imparting knowledge and enlightening the lives of students. The students and Principal of SRS Dr. Veena Singh welcoming the chief guest Sh. Ashok Kumar Sharma Sharma, Secretary BOSEH, Bhiwani The Chief Guest of today s programme, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, I.A.S., Secretary, B.O.S.E.H., graced the occasion at about 1.30 p.m. He was accompanied and escorted by Dr. Veena Singh Deputy Secretary, B.O.S.E.H. and acting Principal, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan School, Bhiwani.. The chief guest of the programme garlanded the statue of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan & the staff also paid their tribute to the eternal teacher.
Thereupon the principal of the school Dr. Veena Singh welcomed the chief guest in the school premises. In her speech she revealed the role and importance of teachers in shaping students and the society as well. The students of class-vii welcomed the guest with their welcome song Man Ki Veena Se Gunjit Karein.. The young players in orchestra spell bound the audience with their performance on various musical instruments. This was followed by a speech of Kiran, a student of class 11 th recording the relevance of Teachers Day.
After this, the newly elected students council lead by the Head Boy Rahul Dev and Head Girl Pooja was formally shouldered their responsibilities by pinning them badges by the worthy chief guest through Investiture Ceremony. In his address to the students the worthy chief guest said that teachers have an influencing role in the life of every student. They are like beacons of light, guiding us in the formative years of our life. Teachers mould us and in the process they shape our future. They are the only medium for their Yukti and Mukti. What we learn from our teachers remains with us, throughout our life. However, very often, we fail to show our appreciation and gratitude for their altruistic devotion. Teachers do need encouragement and support from the community to feel that their efforts are being recognized. To serve the purpose, Teachers Day is celebrated throughout the world, year by year. By celebrating National Teachers Day, we thank our teachers for providing us their invaluable guidance. The chief guest honored the school staff on the day and distributed refreshment among the students
Drawing the programme towards its end, the principal thanked the chief guest and conveyed her hearty good wishes for teachers and students on the occasion. It was followed by VANDE MATRAM - bestowing reverence to our motherland. On the auspicious occasion of Teachers Day, the first lab school of Haryana, committed to the holistic development of students through innovative and joyful learning, was decorated colorfully with paper lamps symbolizing the untiring efforts of teachers. Amidst the softfalling showers of monsoon season the students of senior classes clad in colorful attires assuming the role and duties of teachers seemed to be more sincere and responsible. Teachers were gifted with Happy Teachers Day wishes and cards enfolded with the children s honest and pious love and reverence. Besides, the students of junior school were excited about the different activities conducted in their classes as poem - recitation, slogan writing, picture coloring and much more. However, the senior wing students were curious to listen to the honorable P.M. Narendra Modi s address to the student community. The following activities were being conducted simultaneously in junior school classrooms:-
Kilkari to class II children were enjoying picture colouring comp. Class III was having a poem recitation competition, singing poems in praise and respect of their teachers. Class IV and V were busy in slogan writing competition, attributing their heartfelt respect for their teachers through their colorful words. After enjoying their lunch during the break time, the junior school was taught by pupil teachers, so to feel the sincerity and depth of their teachers efforts in imparting them their love, care and learning. Besides the senior school students (class IX to XII) assembled in the school library to listen to the speech of honorable Prime Minister live from New Delhi on T.V. Afterwards their views about the content of the speech were recorded. Nancy and Rajshree of class 7 th said that they liked the idea of learning values from the lives of great people. While Yukti and Swati of class 10 th liked the P. M. S idea of working hard. Ankit and Kiran Sehrawat of class 11th expressed their heartfelt thanks for being so considerate about the student as he is the first P.M. to address the students of India. All of us have been students at some stage of our life and have been benefitted by our teachers. Celebration of Teachers Day is a wonderful opportunity especially for all of us to show our gratitude and appreciation to our teachers.
