He has been involved in litigation and advise relating to cases before several international courts, including the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the European Court on Human Rights, the United Nations Compensation Commission, the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia and Dutch courts. In 2010 André Nollkaemper was awarded Advance Investigator Grant of the European Research Council (with a research sum of 2,3 million Euro). In 2000, he received the Pionier award of the Organization for Scientific Research, the equivalent of the current most prestigious individual academic award ( Vici ) of this organization.
