MENTORSHIP The College of Architecture, Art, and Design topped rankings at MSU on a national survey conducted on educational experience and engagement with faculty - a reflection of our studio learning environment and low student-to-faculty ratio. OUT & ABOUT Each year, our students (all programs and year levels) take field trips to metropolitan areas to enhance their studies. Recent trips include: Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Online: See a video created by art students during a trip to NYC! ABROAD Students are encouraged to experience other cultures, art, architecture, interior design, and construction through our summer Rome Study Abroad Program. The historical city of Rome offers an endless source of learning opportunities for students. WORKING TOGETHER The college values collaboration between majors. In their senior year, students from all of our disciplines come together to work in teams on a competitive project. Sponsored by the construction firm Brasfield and Gorrie, the project winners receive scholarship money to put toward their studies!
ARCHITECTURE The state s flagship program was recently ranked #25 in the 2016 Design Intelligence Top Architecture Programs in North America. The School of Architecture offers the Bachelor of Architecture degree, a five-year professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The only school in the state leading to licensure, it offers an intense, carefully structured, and rich array of courses that constitute a solid foundation for architectural practice. Students study during their fifth-year in our facilities in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Two nationally recognized research centers in the school (The Carl Small Town Center and the Gulf Coast Community Design Studio) provide opportunities for student involvement. sarc-admissions@caad.msstate.edu 662.325.2202 facebook.com/msusarc

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION SCIENCE The only program in the nation teaching construction management in a studio environment collaboratively with architecture students for a full year. The Building Construction Science Program is designed to prepare graduates to manage both construction projects and the business of construction. Students are taught the fundamentals and intricacies of scheduling and estimating, the ethical and legal concerns of building management, and how each of these impacts the other. The program recently launched a first-of-its-kind Construction Training and Research Laboratory (CTRL) program to assure that students are not just educated in the technology available today but learn how to incorporate new and developing technologies.
