-2- Summer vacation is a welcome break.break from fixed schedules, rules and regulations of the school. Freedom brings more responsibility, so keeping this in mind; we have planned most of the activities to keep our children engaged and also help them in channelizing their energies. Kindly help and guide your child in completing his work and also exploring his creative self. Submit the given homework in a folder with clearly mentioned name, class and section. Kindly take the coloured print outs of the worksheets. It would be wonderful if the children themselves decorate the folders with their tiny hands. Happy Holidays! Have fun with your little one! Regards Class Teacher HOW INDEPENDENT CAN I BECOME? Make your child more independent by teaching him or her various activities like Buttoning and unbuttoning the shirt. Laying the table. Folding mats and clothes. Arranging their toy shelf. Learning to wear shoes and socks. Learning how to zip their school bag uniform.(shorts) Sorting and pairing household items. and their

-3- Good manners and good habits are lifelong assets and they should be practiced until they become habit. Revise the four magical words: PLEASE, SORRY, THANK YOU and EXCUSE ME which we have learned as the part of basics of good manners. Make these four magical words a habit and see the difference. HYGIENE Brush your teeth twice a day Trim your nails often. Do not waste water and electricity. Keep your surroundings and environment clean. It is a bad habit to throw things out of the windows, car or balcony. Make optimum use of this time to cultivate your child s interest in co-curricular activities. Things to remember in the holidays and while doing holiday homework:- 1) Try to converse in English. 2) Playing in the open is essential for your ward s growth. Let him play for atleast one hour in a nearby park. 3) Regulate his/her toilet habits 4) Do not let him/her watch T.V. for more than 2 hours a day, encourage them to watch programmes in Discovery channel, National Geographic but do not miss Cartoon Network.

-4 5) Do all the work in loose A-4 size sheets- English ( three lines), Hindi ( five lines),maths ( boxes) and Art Craft (plain colourful sheets). 6) Make your ward do the homework very neatly. 7) Send back the homework in a handmade paper bag or jute bag. So, enjoy your holidays to the hilt and come rejuvenated in July. ENGLISH A. Revise the work done in the class. B. Complete pages 22,29,30,33 & 77 of Banyan Tree (Primer-B, Term 1). C. Make your ward learn at least 5-7 lines about MYSELF. D. Make your ward learn 1 small story & 3 rhymes. E. Read & write small phrases (10 pages). For eg:- --- Man has a bat. --- Mat and a pan. --- Dad has a cap. --- A fat man ran. --- A fat cat. CREATIVE CORNER:- A. Encourage your ward to do PICTURE READING & make a story of their own. Make a flash card of that story on A-4 size sheet. B. Choose 3 COLOURS of your choice & paste / draw beautiful & attractive pictures related to the same in the form of flash card (A-4 size). Eg:- PINK ---- ----- ---- ----- ---- ----- MATHS C. Take the concept of OPPOSITES (5 Pairs) & paste/draw pictures related to it in the form of flash card (A-4 size). 1. Revise all the work done in the class. 2. Learn and write 0 to 50 counting (10times each). Creative corner

MATERIAL REQUIRED- THICK THREAD CIRCLES (CUT AND PASTE IN DIFFERENT COLOURS) ART AND CRAFT HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK- TABLE MAT WITH THUMBPRINT 1. Aa Bb Cc table mat with thumbprints. 2. Kindly follow the given sample provided for the table mat. -6-3. Material required :- a. Casement cloth. b. Fevicryl colours and brushes. 4. Method: a. Take a rectangle piece of cloth 18"/2. b. Write the letters (Aa to Zz) as shown. c. Take a thumb impression below the letters. d. Outline the object with black fevicryl colour. e.g. using red fevicryl colour they will make a for apple, b for beetle etc.. and for other pictures use relevant colours. 5. Similar pattern will be followed for rest of the letters. 6. Show your creativity to make the border of the table mat.
