Eligibility Criteria: Min. aggregate 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in respective discipline as mentioned hereunder. Student has to comply with the criteria of required CPI/CGPA/percentage on the basis of aggregate of all the semesters as per the norms of this University only. NOTE: 1. The students expecting their qualifying degree results by 31 st August 2015 can also apply. 2. 50% seats are earmarked for the candidates having Valid and Qualified GATE score. Eligibility Criteria in respective discipline: (i) For M. Tech. (Petroleum Engineering): B.E. /B. Tech. or equivalent in Petroleum Engg, Mechanical Engg, Civil Engg., Chemical Engg, Hydrocarbon Refinery Engg, Petrochemical Engg., or 2 or 3 years M.Sc. / M. Sc. (Tech) in Applied Geology/Exploration Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Earthscience with three years B.Sc (Honours) in Basic Sciences or Earth Science or 5 Year Integrated M. Sc. in Applied Geology/Exploration Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/Earthscience with Mathematics as one of the course of study at the undergraduate level. Any one of these qualifications is required to be with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. PDPU M. (ii) M. Tech. (Nuclear Engineering): B.E./B. Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control/Chemical / Civil / Metallurgical / Production/Industrial Engineering OR M.Sc. in Electronics/Physics/Nuclear Physics; with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. (iii) M. Tech. (Energy Systems & Technology (Focused on Solar Energy)): B.E. /B. Tech. or equivalent in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation & Control/Mech./ Semiconductor Technology/ Energy Science & Engg. OR M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Physics/Applied Physics/ Electronics/ Optoelectronics; with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. (iv) M. Tech. (Electrical Engg. (Power Systems)): B.E. /B. Tech. or equivalent in Electrical Engg. with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. (v) M. Tech. (Mechanical Engg. (Thermal)): B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Mechanical / Energy Science & Engg. with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. (vi) M. Tech. (Civil Engg. (Infrastructure Engg. & Management)): B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Civil Engg. / Environmental Engg. / Construction Technology /Planning with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. (Vii) M.Tech. (Environment Engg. Studies): B.E. /B. Tech. or equivalent in Civil Engg./Chem. Engg./Environmental Engg. or M. Sc. in Environmental science with minimum 60% or CPI/CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale as an aggregate of all the semesters. If a candidate is applying by virtue of his eligibility for more than one branch of M. Tech., it is necessary to apply separately for each of them. Every eligible candidate has to apply On Line thru the University web site www.pdpu.ac.in Fees for a single Application: Rs. 1500/- (Non Refundable) 3. Admission Process: (A) Phase - I (For the only candidates having qualified and valid GATE score): Admission will be offered to the candidates on merit based on the GATE score. The seats remaining vacant upon completing admissions of Phase I will be transferred to the seats for Phase II admissions. The candidates who are not offered the admission during Phase I, their application will be considered for the Phase II admission process and they will have to appear in all the components of the Phase II Admission Process mentioned in point No. 3(B). It is mandatory for all GATE Qualified candidates to upload the GATE Score Card as a part of Online application process. Phase-II (for GATE/Non GATE candidates): The Phase-II admission process is meant for the candidates not having the valid and qualified GATE score, and also for the candidates having the GATE score but not offered the admission during Phase-I; as mentioned hereunder: A Written Aptitude Test (WAT) will be conducted on 03 rd July 2015 in Block-C of the University campus from 10 AM to 12 noon. On the same day at 2 PM, the result of the test will be announced on the notice-board, which will be followed by the personal interview from 2.15 pm onwards for the candidates shortlisted from the WAT-result on the same day. The interview process may continue even on next day. At the time of written examination, the candidate is required to produce a set of the selfattested photocopies of all the relevant testimonials along with the originals. 50% weightage of the score obtained in the Written Aptitude Test-WAT and 50% weightage of the score obtained in the Personal Interview-PI will be considered for preparing the merit admission list from among the candidates short listed for the PI on the basis of the WAT score. The syllabus of the WAT for the respective branches of M. Tech. will be as mentioned on the University web site. 4. Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fees: (A) Cancellation of admission by the University: i) In case the candidate fails to produce original documents within the specified time period only deposits (Rs.13,000/-) shall be refundable. ii) During verification of documents or subsequently, if the University finds any certificate or testimonial or information submitted by any candidate is incorrect or false, the candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled for that year and he shall be disqualified for admission for the period of next two academic years. For such candidates only deposits (Rs.13,000/-) shall be refundable. iii) If the University is satisfied that a certain candidate on no fault of his has been wrongly admitted, fees & deposits paid if any, for the ongoing semester shall be refundable. (B) Cancellation of admission by the candidate: For all the candidates cancelling their admission on or before the last date of cancellation of admission the above fees will be refundable after a deduction of Rs. 1000/- as admission processing fees and Rs. 2000/- of Insurance Coverage, only if the vacated seat is filled up by another candidate. If a seat remains vacant due to the cancellation of admission, only the deposits (Rs.13,000/-) shall be refundable. Financial Assistance: The University has now decided to offer from its own resources a fellowship of Rs. 12,400/- p. m. to all candidates admitted in the academic year 2015-16 provided they are having Qualified & Valid GATE score. As a part of this fellowship which will be effective from the start of the semester, such candidates shall have to perform mandatorily the duties as Teaching Assistant. No Additional compensation/financial assistance in this regard shall be permissible. Continuance of t-he financial assistance i.e. the fellowship from semester to semester shall subject to the discipline, punctuality and good academic performance as mentioned hereunder: To become eligible for the continuance of the fellowship in subsequent semesters, the students are required 1. To have earned Minimum SPI of 8 in the 1st Semester, and also of 8.5 in every subsequent semester. 2. To have passed every semester examinations at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behavior and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time. Continuance of the financial assistance from semester to semester shall subject to the discipline, punctuality and good academic performance as laid down in the rules besides the availability of fund with the University. Such students must not be getting any kind of financial assistance/support e.g. fellowship/scholarship/fee waiver etc. from any other source. The above procedure is subject to modification whenever found necessary by the University. If a dispute arises regarding any of the above provision, the decision of the Director General of the University shall be final and binding to all. 7.
