TAFE NSW DEGREES BACHELOR OF APPLIED COMMERCE MAJORING IN ACCOUNTING OR FINANCIAL PLANNING This three year professional degree is for people who want to work in the financial services sector. It has been developed in close consultation with industry and allows students to complete a major in accounting or financial planning. Both majors require students to complete an industry placement in third year, which provides valuable on the ground real workplace experience and an opportunity to establish important industry contacts. Subjects in management, marketing, law, economics and business statistics are included in both majors to ensure you have the full range of knowledge and skills required to work effectively in the financial services industry. Students can opt to graduate with a double major by completing additional subjects. On successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to work in a wide range of roles in the accounting and financial services sector. TAFE NSW DEGREES BACHELOR OF PROPERTY VALUATION The Bachelor of Property Valuation is Australia s only specialist property valuation degree and will prepare you to work as a valuer of any property class in NSW. This qualification has been developed with the support of the Office of the NSW Valuer General, the NSW Office of Fair Trading and the Australian Property Institute. Offered at Ultimo campus, the degree focuses on the skills required for working professionally as a property valuer while ensuring graduates have a thorough understanding of the principles that underpin the realisation of valuation concepts, including background and preparation for a number of specialised areas of valuation practice. TAFE NSW DEGREES ACECQA RECOGNISED COURSE BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE (BIRTH-5) Offering practical early childhood education and care skills, theoretical knowledge and work experience, the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth 5) is designed to develop early childhood teachers who can integrate theoretical knowledge into practical education and care skills in the workplace. There is a strong, applied learning focus to this degree so that when you graduate, you will be ready to work in a variety of settings including long day care, preschool, integrated child and family services and early intervention services. The practical core units are supplemented by extensive work experience which will allow you to apply what you ve learned in a real world environment. DIPLOMA OF ADULT EDUCATION The Diploma of Adult Education is a one year full time qualification that will equip you with the practical skills required for you to design and deliver high quality training programs in your area of expertise. This fully online course will teach you how to design learning and assessment that engages learners so that they benefit from the knowledge and expertise you have of your discipline area. You will also develop skills to enable you to organise, implement and evaluate the training and assessment you deliver, and you will learn how to deliver your training using digital technologies. TAFE NSW DEGREES BACHELOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES The Bachelor of Community Services is a three year full time qualification that will equip you with the practical skills as well as the theory required for you to pursue a career in community services, where you can make your mark supporting the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities, as well as being an agent of social change. This fully online degree is a dynamic hands-on course which will prepare you for practice based roles in both government and non- government agencies. You can choose electives to focus on areas of specialisation including working with families at risk, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, settlement work and disability services. DIPLOMA OF SUSTAINABLE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES This fully online course is for people currently working in Indigenous communities and organisations, as well as professionals in other disciplines who wish to increase their knowledge and skills to enable them to work successfully with Indigenous communities and organisations. The course is for both Indigenous and non-indigenous students and provides an appreciation of historical and contemporary perspectives of shared Australia and an Indigenous world view. TAFE NSW DEGREES DIPLOMA OF SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE The Diploma of Sustainable Practice is a fully online course aimed at people who work, or are planning to work, in roles that incorporate sustainability into the core business of their organisation. The course responds to the demand for people with broad knowledge and skills in sustainability practice, and the trend for all sectors of our economy and community to better participate in a rapidly changing economy and regulatory environment. The course also assists graduates to gain or maintain professional certification with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP). Students complete eight subjects which cover the three key areas of knowledge essential for effective sustainability practitioners: i. sustainability in context; ii. sustainability systems; and iii. sustainability in action. The course uses a project based learning approach which allows students to engage with sustainability scenarios relevant to their work environment. ASSOCIATE DEGREE OF APPLIED ENGINEERING (RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES) Developed in consultation with industry to address the need for skilled para-professionals, this two-year program will give you access to new and exciting careers in the fast-growing renewable energy technologies sector. It provides students with the knowledge required to work within the industry, as well as practical experience through professional experience placements arranged by TAFE. All students study the processes of conversion and storage of energy; then specialise in the infrastructure and activities associated with either electrical or mechanical engineering. You can also use the program as a pathway into the third year of a bachelor degree in renewable energy technologies at the University of Newcastle. Graduates of the course will have the knowledge and practical skills required to work as a para-professional in the renewable energy sector, in government, corporate, environmental and small business enterprises. The Associate Degree of Applied Engineering (Renewable Energy Technologies) requires you to complete 16 subjects and a total of 160 credit points. OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS HOW TO APPLY AND ENROL To be eligible for admission into an undergraduate degree program you must satisfy at least one of the following four minimum entry requirements: NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent; OR Recognised Tertiary Preparation Certificate; OR Certificate IV level or higher vocational qualification; OR Completion of at least one year full-time study or equivalent in a degree course at a higher education institution You do not require an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for admission. If you do not satisfy the above minimum eligibility requirements, you can apply for entry into a course under special admission provisions including mature age and disadvantage. You will be required to submit documentation to support your application for special admission. Some courses have additional course specific entry requirements which are listed in this booklet. TUTION FEES Tuition fees vary between courses and are reviewed annually and are subject to change. Fees payable by the student are the tuition fees valid for that semester, and not the tuition fees that were in place the first time the student enrolled. Additional fees may be payable for equipment and resources. DOMESTIC STUDENTS Domestic students pay tuition fees each semester on a per subject basis, ie: fees are only due for subjects you are enrolled in for that semester.
