ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY - 2014 BARODA HIGH SCHOOL, DANTESHWAR (ENGLISH MEDIUM) Thought: Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there. (Ten sentences) 26/02/14 Rhyme competition Play Group, Lower Kg., Upper Kg. Camlin drawing competition was held for Upper Kg children. Me and My Friend was the topic. 08/02/14 (Saturday) Open House was organized by Kg. sec. Various teaching aids were displayed related to language, numbers and general awareness. Many games were played by the visitors. Music session was also organized where children danced and sang the rhymes. Activities like Tatoo design, vegetable printing, collage work were carried out. Role play of a baker, doctor, grocer, tailor, plumber, policeman, and electrician were also carried out. Science and First hand experience: Lower Kg. Feeling hot, cold, wet, dry concept. Upper Kg.- ---

Field Trip: 20/02/14 Children visited a farm near Chani. They saw potatoes, tomato, spinach, drumsticks, banana, brinjal, green onion, papaya and chickoo. Children were amazed to see potatoes of various sizes growing underground. It was a learning experience for them. After field trip next day children were asked to draw a picture of farm and discuss about it. Activities in School (Prim): 11/2/2014, Environment Science Quiz Competition was conducted for the students of class III to V. Hindi Poem Recitation Competition was conducted for the students of class VI to VIII. 7/2/14 Classmates conducted Spellbee competition for Stds V to VIII. 8/2/2014, Saturday Open house, You Me and Fun was organised for KG, I and II in the school. Charts and projects and games were presented in the open house to showcase the activities on English, Maths and E.S. It was attended by our trustees, Principals and teachers of other BHSs. Many child centric activities were presented by the students. Parents and our guests too participated in many of the fun filled learning activities.

11/2/2014, 21/2/2014, Friday Std VI to VIII had Slogan Writing Competition as part of their CA activity. Students of Std VI wrote on Milk, a healthy drink, Students of Std VII wrote slogans on Avoid junk food and eat healthy food while Std VIII students penned slogans on Traffic rules. The tiny tots of Std I and II participated in the Advertisement Competition. Children enjoyed this competition as they were able to express their thoughts. Activities in School (Secondary): 31/1 to Std X had their preliminary Examination. 6/2/14 15/2/14 Std X had Computer/PE board practical and theory exam. We bid adieu to our Std X students. Satyanarayan Katha was organized. The students also were given a befitting farewell party. A file along with a class photograph was presented to the students as a parting gift. 17/2/14 Std X students had Board Exams of Computer and PE 18/2/14 Manav Shakti research centre you a session for the students of stds VIII and IX on memory development techniques. Common Activities: 11/2/2014, 19/2/2014 Wednesday 22/2/2014 Saturday Camel Colour Contest was conducted for the students of class K.G. to IX. Children enjoyed their drawing and colouring activity. The tiny tots of K.G, Stds I and II enjoyed and spent some time in a Farm near Chani Village. Children enjoyed the feel of nature. They were amazed to see different vegetables and fruits being grown in that farm. They even plucked out some potatoes from the farm. The tractor ride too brought them immense joy. The Annual Sports Day on the theme Have a winning attitude was celebrated in the school premises for class K.G. to IX. Shri I. J. Kin (Senior Coach Kuberbhavan) was the Chief guest. Students participated in various events both track and field. KG Section had events like Getting ready for the school, Birds race, Mixing Fixing, Monkey Race, Joker Race, Woodcutter race, Relay race ( Passing toys ), Relay race ( Passing vegetables ), Garlanding. Parents events and teachers events were also organised. Our PTA sponsored the prizes for the parents and teachers events. A presentation of Karate technique was presented by our karate students. Students also performed yoga and Pyramid formation.

26/2/14 Seven of our students from KG to Std V won the gold medal in the Procom Quiz Contest. Out of School Activities: 2/2/2014 to 4/2/2014, Sunday to 9/2/14,Sun day 12/2/2014, Wednesday Our Under 14 girls were the runners up in Kabaddi in the V.N.M. Khel Utsav (2014-2015) Mrs. Sivaranjini was the in charge teacher. They won against the girls of Uttakarsh Vidyalaya. Our boys also participated in the VNM Khel Utsav. Ankit Thakur of Std VIB won the gold medal at the Shotokan Karate Tournament. 42 children of ages seven to fourteen years participated in the United Nations International Painting Competition on the topic Save Food Save Planet.

Teacher Enhancement : 8/2/14 Ms. Sujata Kulkarni, Ms. Maitryee Chowdhury, Ms. Tithi Sinha and Ms. Usha Kumar participated in the S.S. Workshop conducted by Madhuban publication and organised by BLCET. The resource person was Ms. Neeru Nayyar. The topic was formative assessments-ways and means. 12/02/2014 Our Std X teachers attended the BISAG programme conducted by GSEB. The programme was on online entry of the 30% marks. 14/02/2014 Managing committee meeting of BLCET was organised on 14/2/14.Mrs.Anjali Jambhekar, Supervisor of the Kg section presented a PowerPoint presentation on improving communication skill at the kinder garden level 16/02/2014 Our teachers were invigilators for the government Talati examination. 26/02/2014 Our teachers visited the display of teaching aids at BHS Bagikhana.
