MARIST COLLEGE Catholic School for Girls, Years 7 to 13 Term 4 - Number 4 Friday 24 November 2017 From the Principal Dear Parents and Guardians, On Saturday the Marist community from far and wide gathered to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the foundation of the Marist Sisters. Father David Kennerley, the Marist Fathers' Provincial celebrated Mass. Sister Marie Challacombe reflected on her recent visits to the historic sites in Coutouvre, Bellay and Cerdon in France and a beautiful image compilation was presented depicting this early Marist history to the three Marist schools (image shown at right). We continue to be very grateful for the rich history on which our school was founded. Last week both Year 8 and Year 10 enjoyed EOTC travelling to Tongariro and Matamata for camps. We thank all those involved in organising such wonderfully challenging experiences for our students, in particular Ms Megan Hartevelt and Miss Gemma Hick. Mā te atua koutou e manaaki. May our God bless us all. Mrs Monica Johnson, Principal Year 10 Camp Student Feedback I loved all the activities and enjoyed getting to know my group better. I really want to go back. I enjoyed the different environment and challenges the group went through. I loved how we got to decide what we did & stuff. I enjoyed everything, especially the caving, being challenged and the overnight camp was fun! I loved getting to do things that were out of my comfort zone; getting to meet new people, seeing snow and the glow worms. I loved the feeling of accomplishment on every activity we did and taking a break from normal life. I also really loved my instructors. It was an amazing experience. The water and mountain days were my favourite I loved everything! The food was really nice and homey. I was challenged a lot, but it was so thrilling and exciting.
