Program At-A-Glance Open Your World: Canada *English Skills Development Courses *Social-Cultural Engagement Program This student study tour program is a 2-week program delivered from August 15, 2016 to August 26, 2016, hosted by UR International, English-as-a-Second- (ESL) Program and various faculties and departments at the University of Regina. Students will have a complete English language immersion experience with a focus on language enhancement and cultural exploration. The program adopts a blended learning model and offers the practical learning experience through the following activities: intensive but fun and engaging English language advancement lectures and seminars class observation directly related to student s major field of study collaborative learning with your peers and other students from the University of Regina to learn from one another, share ideas and cultural values Dynamic cultural activities and field trips are thoughtfully designed to enhance students appreciation of Canada s unique culture and history in an authentic way. Some of our feature activities include: Field trips to Saskatchewan s cultural and historical places of interest Weekend trips to historical towns and the City of Saskatoon Social and recreational activities in the City of Regina Organized activities with the University community UR Program Fee: Program cost per participant is CAD$1,950 and includes program tuition, on-campus accommodation and meals, international health insurance, program arranged activities, and airport pick-up and drop-off program. ***Note: Program cost per participant is based on minimum number of 15 participants; if there are less than 15 participants program cost will be adjusted accordingly. 4 5

Accommodation & During the program duration, students will live in fully-furnished residence building on campus with a meal plan. Living in the Residence will provide students with the opportunity to meet new people from every corner of the world and share in new and exciting experiences. Our residence Buildings offer television lounges, large laundry facilities, computer labs, study rooms and a games room. The Residence Life team is sure to enhance students Residence experience. With activities organized throughout the semester, students will never be without something to do! Meals Life Skills Advising: Assist with academic and non-academic needs of the student. English Coaching: Assist with student s assignments, essays and English language needs. International Peer Advisor Program: Connect with peer students to share information and learn how to navigate the University. The University of Regina International Office has a dedicated team to provide personalized services and programs to support students social integration and academic success. The services and programs available to the Program students include: Conversation One-on-One: Strengthen and expand English language conversational skills with senior students. Conversation Club: Participate in a daily group setting to practice English conversation skills and make new friends. Study Assistance: Assist with various university subjects, such as Math, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, and more. Winter to Summer, there s always a new experience for you to discover in Regina. SHOPPING AND FOOD the U of R is just across the street from restaurants and stores for your convenience. WASCANA CENTRE is one of the largest urban parks in North America, situated right beside the campus and in the centre of the city. This park has an impressive 2,300 acres of well groomed bike and walking paths, green leisure fields, a lake, a creek, abundant wildlife and native vegetation. You will often find park-goers having a picnic or BBQ, playing soccer, biking or walking, or excitedly watching a dragon boat race on the lake. DOWNTOWN is easily accessible by bus, bike, or car. You can choose from almost 200 shops and over 70 restaurants with flavors from all over the world. Check out the Regina Folk Festival in Victoria Park on a hot summer weekend, or ice 10 skate there in the winter. 11
