SKYWARD ONLINE ARENA SCHEDULING 2016-2017 (updated 5/11/2016) 1. Log into Skyward Student Access using student s username and password. http://family.oakharbor.wa-k12.net 2. Select the ARENA SCHEDULING tab on left side, then select next school year 2016-17. NOTE: The examples below are for an imaginary student named Emory. 3. a) You can select courses based on Period. After you select the period from the drop down menu, hit APPLY FILTER. You can always scroll forward or back using the arrows at lower left.
3. b) You can select classes based on Subject. After you select the course from the drop down menu, hit APPLY FILTER. You can always scroll forward or back using the arrows at lower left. 3. c) You can find classes by using the Search box in the lower right corner. After you type in the course name, hit ENTER. You can always scroll forward or back using the arrows at lower left. ENTER
4. When you want to change the method of how you are finding your classes, you must hit RESET FILTER. This will remove the Period or Subject you previously selected. 5. To schedule a class, click the ADD button that corresponds to that class. 6. To unschedule a class, click the REMOVE button that corresponds to that class. 7. If there are no more Seats Available in the class (the class is full), you will see the word Closed. 8. The screen will show if a class you want will Fit into your schedule (a green Yes or red No ). If you are already enrolled in the class it will say Enr. You can also tell which Term a class is offered semester 1 (S1), semester 2 (S2) or year-long (YR). View/Print Schedule Submit Schedule 9. When you want to see what classes you have already selected, click on the VIEW/PRINT SCHEDULE tab. You will see what periods still need to be filled. (Term1 + Term2 = Semester 1. Term3 + Term4 = Semester 2.) NOTE: Students need to fill a complete schedule periods 1-6. Period 7 is after school classes. Ignore Periods 8, 9.
10. a) In order to complete a 6 period schedule, you may need to move some of your selected courses to a different period. To do this you must unschedule then reschedule the classes involved (see Step 8 - Remove/Add). 10. b) You can also unscheduled a class when viewing your schedule in the View/Print Schedule screen by clicking on the course title and then Yes. If the course title is blue, you can change it. If it is black, the class has been scheduled by the office and you cannot move it. If you are not able to complete a 6 period schedule after moving courses around, simply log out of Skyward and see your Counselor. Skyward will save your tentative schedule, but it is not final. Do not hit Submit until your schedule is completely finished. 11. When you have completed a 6 period schedule, select the SUBMIT SCHEDULE tab. Then click on the Submit Schedule button.
12. Once you select YES to submit your schedule, you are done. All the course titles will turn black. You will not be able to make any changes in Skyward. At this point, only a Counselor can make changes. 13. If you accidentally submit your schedule before it is done, you will need to see a Counselor to unlock your account for you to finish the process. 14. If you have not done so already, you will be able to print your schedule by going back to the View/Print Schedule tab or Submit Schedule tab. NEED HELP DURING ONLINE REGISTRATION? Counselors will be available in the Gym to help students create schedules in Skyward before school starting at 7:15 am, during both lunches, and after school until 2:45 pm. All grade levels can continue to register online until the Registration Windows CLOSE FOR ALL STUDENTS see posted dates and times for Online Registration. IMPORTANT REMINDER: All schedules are tentative and may change over the summer due to staffing needs. Official schedules with teacher s names and room numbers will be handed out on the first day of school in Advisory class. However, you may view your unofficial class schedule in Skyward Student Access one week prior to the start of school.
