BACKGROUND & NEEDS Impact Statement Accomplishments 2015-2017 Year to Date 1.Our 2016 signature fundraising event,"valentine at the Ritz",exceeded our expectations and netted over $40,000, enabling our organization to expand our mentoring, life skills training programs, college scholarships for 1st generation college students and establish paid internships with local employers for high school students to gain invaluable work experience in professional work settings. Awarded a total of $26,000 in scholarships to nine (9) 1st generation college students in Sarasota * Manatee Counties, including a $16,000 scholarship of $4,000 per year was awarded to a 1st generation college student in June 2017. 3. Our signature Journey To Success leadership programs mentor under served youth ages 14-19. This program began in 2014 with Career Source Suncoast and has grown to serve over 350 high school students. 4. Partnered with Booker High School to implement a Speaker's Series from October 2015- May 2017 that presented workshops with locaal professionals speaking to students about career choices, job readiness and how to prepare for the world of work at all levels. Speakers have included Chief Judge Charles Williams, Sarasota Police Chief Bernadette DiPino, Dr. Randall Morgan, the Ringling College of Art & Design, and University of South Florida, among others. Our participation in the Booker High School Speaker Series will continue in the 2017-2018 school year focusing on 9th graders in their introduction to high school life. After the program's success, Booker High School elected to make attendance mandatory for all 9th grade students. 5. Expanded our website and established a Facebook page to promote our Foundation, communicate our Journey to Success youth programs and to encourage potential donors to contribute. 2017-2018 Goals 1.Award $16,000 academic scholarship to a first generation African American male high school graduate in May 2018. 2. Provide 10 paid student internships for high school students with local employers, including the Sarasota Police Department, Herald Tribune Media Group, Sarasota Collections Design,Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, Sarasota County Government, among others. 3. Implement second year of Booker High School Speaker's Series and Mentoring Program in fall 2017 targeting 250 students. 4. Conduct joint "MLK Day" Celebration Program in collaboration with the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and foundation to impact over 250 students on life skills training, career opportunities and financial literacy. 5. Collaborate with the Gulf Coast Builder's Exchange (GCBX), Manatee Technical College and Sarasota Technical Institute to organize the 2nd annual "Construction Rodeo" in May 2018 to expose and interest high school students in careers in construction and building trades. Needs Statement 1.$12,000 to fund 3 scholarships for African American first generation college students. 2.$10,000 to fund 10 paid student internships with local employers in Sarasota & Bradenton. 3. $8,000 to fund Journey To Success Speaker's Series at Booker H.S. for 250 students from October 2017 to May 2018. (expand to other local schools in the area targeting 600 students) 4.$7,500 to fund "MLK I Have A Dream" Career Day for 250 middle and high school students. 5. $2,500 to fund "Hard cs" after school mentoring program at Robert Taylor Community Complex for 100 middle school students. Background Statement Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation,Inc. was established in 2001. The Gamma Xi Foundation is affiliated with the Sigma Pi Phi fraternity which was formed in 1904 in Philadelphia, PA.. The fraternity is the oldest professional African American in the United States. There are 119 member Boules with approximately 5,000 members in the US, UK and Caribbean. The Sarasota Boulé was established in 1995 with a small group of local professional men and some existing 3

Boule members who retired to the Sarasota community. Together, they worked in conjunction with the county school boards to mentor middle and high school boys and provide leadership training skills. In 2015, the Saraota Boulé commemorated its 20th anniversary with its first fundraiser at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club. Commissioner Carolyn Mason and Herald Tribune Exec. Editor Wm. Church were honored for their community contributions. Since 2015, our organization has developed a series of youth initiatives that are a part of our 'Journey to Success' programs for under served youngsters ages 14-19 in Sarasota and Manatee counties. We have gained great traction for our programs with community partners. Statement from the Board Chair Gamma Xi Boule Scholarship Fund, Inc. was established in 2001. The Foundation was initially established to provide scholarships to local high school graduates in pursuit of post secondary educational opportunities at the college or technical school of their choice. of their choice. The Foundation expanded its focus to include youth development programs for ages 14-19 such as Job Readiness Training, Mentoring Programs, a Speaker Series on a variety of careers to help prepare high school students for future job opportunities in medicine & healthcare, law, law enforcement, financial literacy, military, art and design; and paid student internships at local employers that provide meaningful experiences in professional work settings and that may lead to employment after graduation. We are excited about expanding our "Journey To Success"program which focuses on youth ages 14-19. Dr. Rachael Shelley, '2017 Florida Principal of the Year', states." I m honored that our school has partnered with the Boulé. The Boulé piloted its internship program with our students. With the approval of school board officials, the Boulé successfully recruited local public and private employers to provide unique paid student internships. After a carefully crafted selection process, students are granted a paid internship. Students gain invaluable knowledge and work experience. The Booker Boulé partnership provides innumerable opportunities for Booker High students and their families. PROGRAMS Journey To Success Leadership Program Description Journey To Success is a year round workforce readiness and career development program to serve youth ages 14-19. The program builds long term, sustainable job skills to provide a growing, skilled workforce in high demand by local employers in Sarasota and Manatee County. Workshops include life skills development, education preparation, financial planning and career decision planning. This program is carried out in collaboration with Career Source Suncoast, Booker High School, Robert Taylor Community Complex and various community organizations.this program helps local youth to find and qualify for internships, prepares them for technical careers after high school and helps to guide them through the college experience and requirements, both pre and post graduate. Budget $0.00 Category Program Linked to Organizational Strategy Population Served Short Term Success Long Term Success Program Success Monitoring Youth Development, General/Other Youth Leadership Blacks, African Heritage Adolescents Only (13-19 years) Hispanic, Latino Heritage The initial 5 week pilot of 50 high school juniors and seniors was conducted during the summer of 2014 with the Career Source Suncoast and the Sarasota & Manatee Boards of Education. 100% of the students successfully graduated from the program. Since the initial inauguration of the "Journey to Success" program in 2014 we have seen many successes of which the latest being; participating in the Career Source Suncoast program and witnessing 32 students graduate out of the 5 week program. This year (2017) students were given the task of creating a business that we assisted them with as consultants. At project end a winning team was selected and awarded the winning prize for best business idea. We also completed the first year of the Booker High School College, Careers and You 9th. grade course and witnessed higher GPA's than previous classes preparing them to be candidates for our Internship program where we successfully placed two students at the Sarasota Police Department and one student at the Herald Tribune in 2017. Capping all of this off we presented a $4,000 scholarship to a deserving young man preparing to attend his first year of college. Overall a great deal of short-term successes that impacted at least 200 students between 14 and 18 years of age. Of the high school graduating seniors, 80% were accepted and entered college. The remaining 20% of graduating high seniors obtained employment. Additional measures of long term success and sustainability are being analyzed. In 2017 we have seen the growth of our "Journey to Success" program participants into local employment, internships, college and jr. college attendance, higher grade point averages, higher confidence levels, better speaking and presentation skills and overall better planners for their futures. We are convinced that these students will have a much more clear view of what is available to them and how to approach success before the introduction of our program. The effectiveness of the program has been monitored from 2016 to date using surveys and interviews with students, school administrators and mentors. The findings will be available in December 2017. 5

Program Success Examples Career Source received a 3 year $334,000 grant to expand the program to address 18-24 year olds as well as qualified underprivileged youth. The Foundation expanded the 2015 summer program to 100 students and 100% of the students completed the program. Of the high school graduating seniors, 80% were accepted and entered college. The remaining 20% of graduating high seniors obtained employment. During 2016-17 we have placed 3 students into paid internship programs in Sarasota at the Herald Tribune and the Sarasota Police Department. We have witnessed graduates of our summer program and participants of our "Journey to Success" program become employees of several businesses on a full time basis (Panera Bread, Publix, Wells Fargo Bank; etc...). Comments Program Comments by Organization The "Journey to Success" (JTS) Program participants have the opportunity to participate in the Career Source Suncoast Summer Program where the Gamma Xi Boule works with high school students to build sound career plans for their futures. The "JTS" students also have the opportunity to participate in a Year-Long Booker High School Speakers Series focused on 9th graders entering their first year of high school. This program is titled "College, Careers and You", and is mandatory for all 9th grade students. The Gamma Xi Boule in cooperation with the University of South Florida Manatee have the students for a full day, one day per month to introduce the students to the subjects of life skills, confidence building, keys to success, college requirements and various career opportunities. The Career Source Suncoast summer program and paid student internships with local employers are financially subsidized by the fundraising efforts of the Gamma Xi Boule Foundation. The student internship program has had great success with 5 high school students being employed by the Herald Tribune and Sarasota Police Department from October 2016 to June 2017. These students also have the opportunity to qualify and receive college and technical school scholarships for up to 4 years. In 2017, a $16,000 ($4,000 per year) scholarship was awarded to a 1st generation college student who is attending Florida Gulf Coast University majoring in Accounting.. The long-term goal of our scholarship program is to obtain matching funds from local colleges and/or institutions if the student attends a local institution. We track each of the participant's progress and successes throughout their involvement in the program. Through the BHS Speaker Series, summer programs, paid internships and local scholarships, we provide the students with a greater appreciation of the Sarasota area for employment and long-term residency as well as preparing them for meaningful and productive futures. 6

The foundation promotes meaningful partnerships with local employers and organizations who are interested in providing opportunities for youngsters to help them make sound life choices and become productive citizens in our community. Some of our local community partners have expressed their satisfaction in working us and the programs we promote for students. Chief Bernadette DiPino, Sarasota Police Department states... The relationships and trust that was built during the internship are invaluable. It is so important for the police and students to interact in a positive environment. The students gained life and law enforcement experiences 7

which will certainly benefit them in their future endeavors. They assisted us just as much as I believe we helped them! Mr. Victor Hull, City Editor, Herald Tribune Media Group indicates... The Herald-Tribune is pleased to participate in the Boule Internship program. Our experience was nothing but positive, with laudable goals, strong commitment, communication and follow-through from the organization, a diligent and eager intern in Maicy Powell, and results. Maicy was able to shadow and work with Herald-Tribune journalists, gained experience and confidence and wound up with published articles in the Herald-Tribune. We look forward to having another Boule intern in the coming year. We are extremely pleased to be in a position to help 'make a difference' in the lives of the young people we serve. Comments Financial Comments by Organization The Gamma Xi Boule Scholarship Fund was established in 2001. The foundation was re-branded in 2015 as the Gamma Xi Boule Foundation, Inc. expanding our mission to provide leadership & development programs for youth ages 14-19. In addition, we provide paid student internships with local employers ( i.e. Sarasota Police Dept., Herald Tribune, Sarasota Collections Design, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and Sarasota County Economic Development Dept.), and scholarships for 1st generation college students in under served communities. One of the challenges with our expanded focus is to educate and enlighten the philanthropic and business communities of our expanded mission and programs. In 2015, we began an aggressive campaign to effectively communicate our message to the philanthropic community through our website, Facebook page, brochures and other communication strategies. In working with young people ages 14-19, the foundation has an opportunity to make a lasting impact on youth to assist them in understanding available career opportunities, providing critical life skills required to be successful, making positive life choices, and reducing the possibility of becoming a part of the juvenile justice system. To achieve our objectives, it is essential that we identify and work with interested partners to support the meaningful work of changing the outlook for youngsters in under served communities, many of whom feel they have no future. 1. Prior to 2015, our sole source of funds were member contributions. Member contributions totaled $4,300.00 in March 2015. 2. In February 2015, the Sarasota Collections Furniture Design Store hosted a reception for the foundation which raised $5,700.00. 3. Our first fundraiser commemorating our 20th anniversary at the LWR CC raised $23,000.00 in April 2015. 4. Over the past three (3) years, the Sigma Pi Phi Foundation has awarded almost $20,000 to our organization enabling us to continue our Journey to Success youth mentoring programs with Career Source Suncoast, Manatee Community College, Habitat for Humanity,Sarasota Technical Institute and Booker High School. 5. Our foundation participated in the 2016 Giving Challenge for the first time and raised $12,620 to fund our paid student internship program with local employers including the Sarasota Police Department, Herald Tribune Media Group, Sarasota County Government, Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and Sarasota Collections Furniture Design. 6.
