Exercise book and examination papers Work through lesson work again highlight key points, make extra revision notes and complete extra questions on the topics as necessary Ensure that your child has acted on their EBI points from the examination papers

Practice makes perfect! THE BEST WAY TO REVISE FOR MATHS IS BY DOING LOTS AND LOTS OF QUESTIONS. THE REVISION TACTICS THAT ARE USED FOR OTHER SUBJECTS, LIKE TAKING NOTES OR DRAWING MIND MAPS WON T WORK AS WELL FOR MATHS COMPARED WITH DOING LOTS OF PRACTICE QUESTIONS! LITTLE AND OFTEN STARTING NOW WILL MEAN THERE ISNT SO MUCH PRESSURE IN MAY / JUNE WHEN ALL OF THE EXAMS COME ROUND.

Revision guide and workbook 2.50 each pay on ParentPay Use the revision guide to find the key information, and try the questions on the same page of the workbook to see if you can apply it to examination-style questions (Each page in the revision guide relates to the same page in the workbook!)

Target grade workbooks 4 each pay on ParentPay Targeted skill practice at grades 5 and 7

Additional GCSE maths papers Students were given a letter at the start of term about the option to buy some additional maths papers for 5. Deadline has passed on parent pay but your child can still bring 5 to Miss Lowry or Mrs Bargh if they would like to purchase them. They will be also be available electronically on Show My Homework

Key websites vle.mathswatch.com - videos and worksheets at different grades username: 13 followed by the surname and first initial @tgacademy i.e 13BloggsJ@tgacademy password: mathswatch http://corbettmaths.com/ - 5-a-day questions, online tutorials and practice http://www.mathedup.co.uk/gcse-maths-takeaway/ - videos, questions by topics and answers

How can you monitor the maths revision that your child is completing? As maths revision involves lots of practice, your child could show you the completed worksheets and exam questions that they have printed off or written down (they can also bring these in for their maths teacher to mark and give feedback).

Post lesson tips Re-read lesson notes. Complete related pages in revision workbook. Approach class teacher if you are unsure with content. Compulsory homework tasks set in lesson are based on past examination questions. In class assessments are synoptic encouraging students to revise earlier content.

What about other subjects? TGAS Website Curriculum tab KS4 subjects Exam board Course outlines assessment structures Online materials / study guides etc

Questions Why are students in sets levels? Sometimes students are in sets as they are entered for different tiers of exams. Staff choose the most appropriate tier based on assessments and performance across the course. If no tier of entry then all students can access every grade. There is no limit or restriction and staff will be pushing students to achieve the highest grade possible.

Questions Is there an exam schedule? Students will be given a timetable for the trial exams and the summer exams in advance

Questions A level: can students be asked to leave if they are not on target to pass A levels? We cannot ask students to leave based on attainment. We would invite a conversation with the student and parents regularly if the student is not on target.
