1. ASP at a glance Born as a joint venture between Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) and Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi), the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) is a school for young students who are motivated and highly qualified, who have a passion for innovation and who wish to develop their potential in a multidisciplinary community. ASP is an additional advanced program for Engineers, Architects and Designers which runs in parallel with the Master of Science courses of PoliTo and PoliMi. The educational program of ASP consists of two elements: Courses and Multidisciplinary Projects. ASP Courses are broad-based, with lectures and seminars held by renowned professors from different institutions in Italy and abroad, developing a strong interaction between students and teachers. Students attend a total of 4 ASP Courses over the two-year program, addressing topics such as the logic of modelling, creativity and sustainability, economics, management and ethical and socio-political aspects of innovation. ASP Multidisciplinary Projects are focused on real-world problems (e.g. infrastructures for high-speed trains, nanotechnology applications for healthcare, localization and design of congress centers, information systems for tracing hazardous material, etc.) proposed by PoliMi and PoliTo professors in collaboration with companies, public administrations and research institutions. Teams working on each project are multidisciplinary and consist of 6-8 students from different majors, under the supervision of tutors selected from among the ASP Faculty and experts of the proposing institutions. ASP students will receive both an ASP Diploma and a Double Degree from PoliMi and PoliTo. The official ASP language is English. Each year, ASP enrols a maximum of 150 students, 90 at PoliMi and 60 at PoliTo. 2. Who can join The selection procedure will be carried out separately in PoliMi and PoliTo. Therefore candidates who are interested to apply to ASP program must refer to the selection process in the Politecnico in which they intend to enrol. The ASP program is for EU and Extra EU graduate students who have obtained a Bachelor degree or equivalent. At Politecnico di Torino the admission to ASP is effective only for selected applicants enrolled in a Master of Science course offered by Politecnico di Torino for the academic year 2015-2016 (first semester) by November 6 th, 2015. Nevertheless, students have to respect the Politecnico di Torino deadlines for the enrolment to the Master of Science course. Please notice that only exchange students enrolled in a 24 month double degree program will be admitted to the ASP selection. 3. Admission requirements at Politecnico di Torino Admission requirements are the following: a) A Bachelor degree or an equivalent academic qualification that grants access to a Master of Science course (Laurea Magistrale) at PoliTo, obtained before November 6 th, 2015. Students who graduate from Italian Universities must have obtained the Bachelor degree within the 3 regular academic years;

b) Average grade in Bachelor exams: for students from Italian Universities: a minimum weighted average of 27/30 (exams grades multiplied by course credits); for students from foreign Universities: the average grade is evaluated by the Committee on the basis of each country s grading system; c) An English language certification: International English Language Testing System IELTS (minimum score 5.0 and 5.5 for Automotive Engineering) In the tables IELTS 5.0 and IELTS 5.5 (https://didattica.polito.it/cla/en/certificates/) are listed additional English certificates with the minimum overall scores accepted by Politecnico di Torino in substitution for IELTS 5.0 and IELTS 5.5. Applicants can be exempted from the English language certification if they produce: a certificate issued by a High/ Secondary School in English language after at least one year of attendance or a High school diploma recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education as equivalent to the Italian High School Diploma or Higher Diploma obtained from a post-secondary school in English language or Bachelor degree obtained from Universities where courses are offered in English. Please, notice that ASP requires an official declaration printed on headed and stamped paper attesting that The medium of instruction is English. Candidates are strongly advised to include a GRE Certificate, which will positively support the application. 4. Application Candidates must apply by September 21 st, 2015 - h 12:00 p.m. (Italian time) through the online application form (http://apply.polito.it/). ASP students will be selected from among the students who have successfully completed and submitted the online application form. 5. Selection process 1. After the application deadline, the ASP Committee will evaluate all the applications received. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the documents enclosed with the application form so as to verify that the academic requirements and qualifications are met.

The ASP Committee will evaluate the required titles and will assign a maximum of 70 points on the basis of the following criteria: a maximum of 35 points for University results (due to the multidisciplinarity of the ASP, the Evaluation Committee guarantees a balanced presence of students from the different Master of Science courses on the basis of the final average grade); a maximum of 20 points related to the GRE certificate; a maximum of 15 points related to the Motivation letter. Candidates who pass the preliminary screening based on the documentation submitted online will be admitted to the second step of the selection which consists in an interview (in October/November 2015). 40 points is the minimum level to be admitted to the second step of selection. However, no more than 120 students will be interviewed. Therefore, the Evaluation Committee may set the minimum level for the interview at an higher point. The list of candidates eligible for interview will be published on the ASP interview page. The interview has a maximum score of 30 points. Candidates must attend the interview on the assigned date, time and place which is communicated on the ASP interview page. Failure to attend will lead to exclusion from the selection. 2. All communications will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the application. 3. During the interview the Evaluation Committee will evaluate proficiency in the English language and the motivations to apply for ASP. 4. At the end of the selection process, a final list of selected candidates will be published on the Selections outcomes page by November 30 th, 2015. A "reserve list" of candidates will also be published on the Selections outcomes page. In case of renunciation by any selected candidates, reserve candidates will be contacted by e-mail. Within 10 days from the publication date, selected candidates must submit a letter of acceptance. Failure to do so will lead to loss of the place. The letter must be downloaded from this web site ( Selection outcomes page). 5. Admission to ASP is effective only for students who have been selected and have enrolled for the academic year 2015/16 in one of the Master of Science courses (Laurea Magistrale) of PoliTo by November 6 th, 2015. Nevertheless, students have to respect the Politecnico di Torino deadlines for the enrolment to the Master of Science course. 6. Selected candidates who join ASP are obliged to observe the rules set forth in the ASP Students Guidelines, which will be available from December 2015. 6. Benefits 1. All students that follow the ASP program at PoliTo with success will benefit from a waiver of the tuition fee due to PoliTo (the fee waiver does not include the regional tax and administrative fees), for the two-year duration of the Master of Science course (Laurea Magistrale).

2. ASP will cover transportation costs to the locations of ASP courses, together with lodging and meals for all students enrolled in the ASP program at PoliTo. 3. All students enrolled in the ASP program at PoliTO will benefit from financial support for their project activities, according to the educational programme and to the annual financial availability. 4. Only international students (all students with foreign nationality and with a Bachelor degree obtained in a non-italian University) that successfully follow the ASP program at PoliTo, will be granted monthly a financial support of 400,00 net for the two-year period (24 months) of the ASP program to cover part of their living costs in Turin. However, this amount will not fully cover living costs in Italy. Therefore students will need their own money. If a student does not complete the ASP program, he/she will lose all the benefits granted by the ASP and he/she will have to pay the tuition fees (retroactively, even those of the first year if the student loses the status in the second year) corresponding to the highest fee level or, if he/she applies for fee reduction, according to the fee level he/she has been assigned due to self-certification. Therefore, we suggest students to ask for fee reduction. All the information will be published on the Fee Regulation 2015/16. We invite students to read it carefully once available on the Politecnico website. Please notice: that benefits provided by the Edisu Piemonte are in conflict with the ASP programme: students cannot benefit from both Edisu and ASP at the same time. For further information, we suggest students to contact the Edisu Office; that students granted a scholarship by internal or external institutions to the Politecnico di Torino could be in conflict with ASP benefits. For further information, we advise students to contact the Office in charge of the scholarship assignment. For information: asp@polito.it Tel. +39/011 090 5767
