Business Administration The s degree offered by the Lucerne School of Business is a comprehensive and up-to-the-minute higher education programme completely taught in. With its proven combination of practical and academic relevance, it takes the students straight into the world of business and the management of commercial enterprises and organisations. General and Economics The programme consists of a generalist component combined with one out of the three specialisations. In the generalist component students acquire foundational management skills and the ability to analyse and evaluate important variables in the corporate environment. The focus on specialisations starts at the beginning of the second half of the programme. At that point, the emphasis is on developing subject-specific proficiency in the area of specialisation. Generic skills will be further developed through related practical training. The main objective of the programme is to gain a professional qualification and, ultimately, become a successful player in the international and national employment market. In this particular respect, the experience of the graduates leads us to believe that the Lucerne School of Business ranks top in Switzerland. Specialisation 1: & Economics Why select this programme? Our and Economics (IM&E) focus programme has been developed to meet the growing need for specialists in the field of international business in global markets. It is taught entirely in and takes students on the route to becoming qualified business managers who cater to the needs of international and domestic organisations working across borders. Graduates of the course will not only have acquired a strong theoretical background but also hands-on practical and industry experience. It exposes students to various areas such as intercultural management, managerial economics, international economics, project management, value chain management, and international financial economics. Career Opportunities and economics graduates are highly sought after because they have acquired the skills and knowledge required to deal with the complex management challenges posed by today s international business environment. They will find excellent opportunities in the international job market, both in established international organisations as well as in start-up and high-tech companies. Alternatively, well-qualified graduates will be able to pursue a Master s programme anywhere in the world.

Specialisation 2: Accounting, Finance & Banking Why select this programme? The -language specialisation in Accounting, Finance & Banking is tailored to highly motivated students looking for a future career in international financial management, the financial industry or as a certified public accountant. Graduates of this programme can expect to be offered challenging opportunities in all areas of international and national business. Accounting focuses on concepts and instruments that enable effective management information and tools to be provided in a company, thereby contributing to the implementation of strategic targets. Finance covers topics such as value-oriented management, methods of corporate valuation and the preparation of investment decisions. Students will also get a solid background with regard to both the Swiss and the international banking sector and the key success factors in those industries. Career Opportunities Graduates have excellent career prospects in international financial management, in the international financial industry, in auditing or in business consultancy. Companies operating in these areas are highly interested in people with an international mindset and often give young employees the opportunity to spend time abroad an experience that, in combination with a s degree in Accounting, Finance & Banking, is the best preparation for a great career. Specialisation 3: Tourism Why select this programme? The of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Tourism prepares students for an international career in this field. The programme is brand new and has been designed to include a wide range of tourism-related topics, such as tour operating, airlines, hotel and hospitality management, wellness, sports and destination management. Students also have the opportunity to acquire a good understanding of product development and product manage ment in tourism, of e-commerce, digital transformation, event management, consumer behaviour, trends and innovation. Courses enable students to develop professional skills relevant to working in tourism such as communication, sales, negotiations, entrepreneurship and leadership. The programme design has been kept deliberately flexible to allow for studies to be combined with work, or for the integration of internships, or for exchange semesters at one of our international partner universities. Career Opportunities Graduates have excellent prospects in the global job market as junior managers in small or large companies or in the management of destinations. The combination of theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical and professional training allows graduates to successfully deal with the management issues relevant in contemporary tourism. Alternatively, the programme also enables graduates to pursue consecutive master s education anywhere in the world.
