COURSES GENERAL PROGRAM General English has a focus on developing the English language and communicative skills needed for social and work situations and daily life activities. It may also provide students with a pathway to s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses or IELTS Preparation classes. 20 hours face to face in class teaching Five levels from elementary to advanced, 12 weeks per level Classes start every Monday (except for Australian public holidays) Weekly revision test and structured teacher feedback ENTRY REQUIREMENTS There are no entry requirements for s General English Programs. Students are tested on their first day to determine their course class level. IELTS PREPARATION IELTS Preparation this program offers students intensive practice and preparation for both the IELTS Academic and General Training examinations. 20 hours face to face in class teaching Classes start every Monday (except for Australian public holidays) Successful completion of this course guarantees placement offered at the specialised IELTS Testing Centre,, Gold Coast. Successful completion will give students direct entry into any certificate or diploma with English entry requirement equivalent to academic IELTS 5.5 overall. Four intakes per year; January, March, June and September 20 hours per week intensive face to face teaching ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Student must have academic IELTS overall score of 5.0 with no individual score lower than 4.5, or pass the TAFE Queensland Placement Test. FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES (EAP) - NURSING English for Academic Purposes - Nursing this course is specifically designed for students who intend to enrol into the Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Division 2) at TAFE Queensland. There is a focus on the English language knowledge and skills required for success at a tertiary level in the specific field of nursing and health care. Satisfactory completion of this program will give students without IELTS 6.5 access to diploma level formal nursing programs, provided they also meet the other entry requirements for the program. Two intake periods per year in April and September 20 hours per week intensive face to face teaching ENTRY REQUIREMENTS English language requirements: IELTS 6.0 (no individual score lower than 5.5), ISLPR test score 3 across all four skills or successful completion of a English language program at an appropriate level.
