Proposal Summary Keep UTPB affordable while providing improved services and facilities assisted by the following: Approximately a $300 increase in tuition and fees per semester for undergraduate students. Investments Major improvements in student services (financial aid, accounting, registration, counseling) Investments to add professional advisors to ensure responsiveness and accuracy 24 hour study spaces/increases in security Modern/upgraded technology and furniture in Student Activity Center (including food service at night) More financial aid dollars available Planning funds to prepare for future improvements in Athletics/Academic Facilities/Quad/Mesa Deck
Rational EVERYONE DESERVES MORE! The University understands that students want and deserve better services and facilities. The University wants to be able to provide better services and facilities in order to assure student success and to recruit more students to UTPB. The University s funds are limited due to the desire to keep tuition and fees low. Funding resources from the State of Texas are subject to a decrease in the future.

Differential Tuition Rational The Engineering, Business and Nursing programs are more expensive to provide to students due to professor salaries and equipment needed for the courses. A differential tuition will be assessed only to junior, senior and graduate level courses in these three program areas. Benefits to Students: UTPB is committed to provided quality instruction. Classes will be offered when needed by the students. Additional financial assistance funds will be set aside in order to keep the programs affordable.

Guaranteed Tuition The guaranteed tuition is provided to assure students of their tuition and fees while encouraging them to graduate in four years. A student may opt into a guaranteed tuition plan upon entering UTPB. The guaranteed tuition rate is honored for four years. The student must be enrolled each Fall and Spring semester during that four year period. Guaranteed Rates based on year of entry: 17-18 - $3,650 based on 15 hours 18-19 - $4,050 based on 15 hours 19 20 - $4,375 based on 15 hours. The guaranteed rate will only be offered for incoming undergraduate students.
