The Broadcasting Faculty and Alumni Scholarship This scholarship was created by the Fall 2012 Broadcasting faculty in response to 1) the need to find monies to recruit incoming freshmen to the department, and 2) the Faculty/Staff campaign to support the university Capital Campaign. This scholarship will be funded initially with contributions from the Broadcasting faculty and staff. Subsequent contributions to keep the scholarship viable will be made by the Broadcasting faculty and staff as well as Broadcasting Alumni and other donors. This scholarship will be used to recruit incoming freshmen to the Broadcasting major. This award is intended as a $1,000 award payable in equal halves in each semester ($500 in the fall and $500 in the spring). Awards will be applied to the recipient s WIU account. The spring award can be terminated in the event the student changes his/her major. Illinois Broadcasters Association Scholarship This scholarship was created in January, 2001 by the Illinois Broadcasters Association to recognize the top student in the department with emphasis on a rising senior majoring in Broadcasting. The amount of the award is $750.00 payable in equal disbursements ($375 in the fall and $375 in the spring). The recipient of this award will be selected in the spring.
