ELIGIBILITY (Bachelor) Higher secondary education, such as high school or vocational education, which gives eligibility for higher education Foreign qualification that provides eligibility for comparable higher education studies in the country in question 6
ELIGIBILITY (Master) a Bachelor s (or a higher) degree in the field and at least three years (36 months) of general work experience before 31 July 2017 and after completing their Bachelor degree. OR Other appropriate Bachelor s (or a higher) degree and at least three years (36 months) of work experience in field before 31 July 2017 and after completing their Bachelor degree. OR a Bachelor s (or a higher) degree in the field and at least three years (36 months) of work experience in field before 31 July 2017 and after completing their Bachelor degree. 7
HOW TO APPLY The education providers and higher education institutions maintain their study programme information on Studyinfo (www.studyinfo.fi) (total of 25 Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland) Joint application means that you can apply with one application up to 6 study programmes, you are offered only one study place. You have to set programmes in order of preference on the application form School certificate copies to the admissions office e.g. when applying with a non-finnish school background It is free to apply, but tuition fees are applied to some of the students 8
TUITION FEES To students who are not citizens of countries of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland EUR 8,500.00 per academic year in Bachelor of Business Administration programmes EUR 9,500.00 per academic year in Bachelor of Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Sports Studies programmes as well as in all the Master programmes taught in English Students are exempted from paying the tuition fees if they e.g. have Continuous or permanent residence permit in Finland EU Family Member's Residence Card in Finland Scholarships are granted in two categories Any eligible student meeting the requirement of 55 completed ECTS credits during two consecutive academic semesters will be offered a scholarship value of 20% of the tuition fee Any eligible Bachelor level student completing the degree in 6 academic semesters or less will be offered a scholarship of 30% value of the tuition fee. Any eligible Master level student completing the degree in 2 academic semesters or less will be offered a scholarship of 30% value of the tuition fee No scholarships are available for the first year of study apart from a student graduating in two academic semesters or sooner 9
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION Exams are held only in Finland (2017 BITE and GLOBBA in India) One or two days The content of the exam depends on the degree programme Pre-reading materials Written exam (Logical thinking, Multiple choice test, etc.) Interview English language will be tested in the entrance examination from all applicants (Pass or Fail) 10
