The Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education has updated the District Strategic Plan to address the future challenges and give direction to provide the highest quality education for all students. This plan guides us in decision-making at the school and district levels, and helps evaluate current programs for effectiveness and contribution to our District vision, mission and goals. GOAL 1 STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT (Teaching and Learning) G O AL S Foster academic excellence that challenges and inspires all students to achieve their potential Student Achievement Objectives 1. Deliver relevant and rigorous core curriculum 2. Provide programming and instruction that reflecting current world skills 3. Provide individualized instruction and monitor student progress for all students 4. Create a learning environment conducive to meeting students affective needs 5. Enhance instructional skills and knowledge through professional development 6. Use technology to enhance instruction and student achievement GOAL 2 FINANCE GOAL 4 OPERATIONS Ensure fiscal responsibility, stability and the use of resources that support the District s mission Finance Objectives 1. Execute implementation plan for Phase II district restructuring changes; including asset sale(s) and fl eet sale/replacement 2. Improve the District investment plan/results 3. Continue to expand the District shared time services program 4. Improve the Year Two building and site sinking fund levy and project selection, management and reporting process 5. Review and revise District policies and guidelines GOAL 3 HUMAN RESOURCES Ensure a high quality staff and its continuous development and improvement Human Resources Objectives 1. Sustain the retention of high-quality staff 2. Maintain and expand professional development to enhance employee skills 3. Monitor and support all staff members transitioning into new positions as a result of the restructuring plan Create and maintain safe learning environments to meet curriculum and demographic needs; Preserve the physical and human assets of the District Operations Objectives 1. Execute implementation plan for Phase II district restructuring changes; including facility closure and transportation routing 2. Improve the Year Two building and site sinking fund levy and project selection, management and reporting process 3. Execute the payroll staffi ng and operating transition planning 4. Implement the new National School Lunch Program procurement changes 5. Review and revise District policies and guidelines 6. Execute Food Service capital expenditure plan GOAL 5 COMMUNICATIONS Promote two-way, mutually beneficial communication with District stakeholders Communications Objectives 1.
