Ways to Use Lectures Office Hours Tutoring by Appointment

How We Are Using We have asynchronous lecture videos and written notes, which are supplemented by online lab sessions. The online lab sections meet MWF for 50 minutes using Zoom. Labs are conducted by undergraduate student workers called Lab Leaders. Each lab has approximately 20 students enrolled. Attendance is required and part of their grade.

Software installation may require administrator authority. Most web conferencing software has annotation and/or a whiteboard, but you may prefer to use another program. A setup with two monitors allows the host quick access to the chat feature and other programs that may be needed on the computer. For a single host, you may want to use a directional mic. Multiple host may choose a single, multi-directional mic.

Our We have three stations. Each station has a desktop computer, two monitors (one is touchscreen), document camera, directional mic, and a noise canceling headset.

ADA Compliance With the development of online content, it is important to consider ADA compliance. Potentially, live Closed Captioning maybe required. An upside is that providing the accommodation of recording is generally simple via web conferencing.

conferencing allows you the ability to connect with an online class. This connection can help prevent the feeling on being on an island. Equipment, training, and other considerations are necessary to make an online class environment run smoothly and enhance the students learning opportunities.
