Tennessee Effective July 24, 2015 Educators may now apply for a Tennessee administrator license after completing a state approved administrator licensing program at an out-of-state college or university that holds regional accreditation. The educator must also pass the Praxis SLLA 6011 exam required by Tennessee and have at a minimum three years of verified education work experience to be eligible for an administrator license. Disclosure on Transferability of Credits per Tennessee Higher Education mission SECTION 1 Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 7, Part 1, is amended by adding the following language as new, appropriately designated section: 49-7-1_. Credits earned at Arkansas State University may not transfer to another educational institution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by Arkansas State University. You should obtain confirmation that Arkansas State University will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You should also contact any educational institutions that you may want to transfer credits earned at Arkansas State University to determine if such Institutions will accept credits earned at Arkansas State University prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement. The ability to transfer credits from Arkansas State University to another educational institution may be very limited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at Arkansas State University if you enroll in another educational institution. You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer of credit policy of Arkansas State University and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at Arkansas State University before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. Connecticut The Bureau of Educator Standards and Certification cannot determine a candidate s eligibility for Connecticut certification until he/she submits a formal application form (ED 170) and supporting documents to the Connecticut State Department of Education s Bureau of Educator Standards and Certification office. Please refer to forms ED 170 and ED 125 found here. Connecticut does not pre-approve teacher preparation programs completed in other U.S. States or Territories. Connecticut does not have reciprocity with any other state. However, Connecticut participates in the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Agreement (NIA). Under this agreement, to waive specific coursework requirements, Connecticut may accept completion of a stateapproved education preparation program at a regionally accredited college or university from another US state. The interstate agreement does not exempt candidates from degree, testing, and/or experiential requirements applicable to the requested certification endorsement. Candidates who do not qualify for the Connecticut certification under the terms of the interstate agreement must meet all Connecticut s requirements for the endorsement requested, including coursework. Iowa Iowa students seeking an Iowa educator license are advised that successful completion of an educator preparation program does not qualify for initial educator licensure by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. Candidates seeking licensure in the State of Iowa must first be licensed/certified as an educator in the state in which preparation was completed.
