Knight and Family of the Month of August 2014 Randy & Katie Paden This month, due to his accomplishments as a Knight as well as their unselfish volunteer work with the Parish as a family, Council 3179 have selected Brother Randy Paden as Knight of the Month and with his wife Katie and 2 sons, Family of the Month. Congratulations. Brother Randy was born in Fresno California, and is the youngest of four children. In his mid- twenties he met his wife to be Katie. Katie was born in Watsonville California and was the youngest of six. Shortly after they were married, they had their first son, Nathan. A few years later, they had their other son Ryan. After being married for about 10 years, they moved from Fresno to Gresham because of Randy s work. The Paden family joined St. Henry s parish shortly after coming to Gresham. At that time, Brother Randy got to know the late Brother Joe Egner through the dinner for eight programs at St. Henrys. After talking to Brother Joe, Randy knew that he was interested in joining the Knights of Columbus. Brother Randy and Katie have been very involved with St. Henrys as well as with the Boy Scouts. Both of Nathan and Ryan are Eagle Scouts, also Nathan joined the Knights about a year ago. Katie has taught faith formation, and is also a Eucharistic minister as well and recently joining the Catholic Daughters. Randy served on the Pastoral council for 7 years and is also a Eucharistic minister. Brother Randy joined the Knights in 2002 and has since served as Breakfast chair, co-dinner chair with Brother Joe Wiggins, treasure, deputy Grand Knight, and Grand Knight, and now District Deputy. Brother Randy and his wife Katie are very grateful for their parish family at St. Henrys. Brother Randy cherishes the friendships of people that have showered him because of the Knights. We at Council 3179 are very grateful to have the Paden Family in our Knights circle of families. Knights in Action Parish Picnic July 13 th, 2014 (more posted at the hall
